Last two weeks, we learned that faith indeed has a lens, and faith gives it to all those who live by it. The sinner who first accepted Christ received the lens to see that He is no longer a sinner and there is no condemnation for him/her (Romans 8:1). Those who live by faith don’t live by looking at the situations but by the revelation they receive through the Word of their Father. From today, see everything through the lens of faith. Sometimes you pray and wonder, “Will God really do it?” Jesus calls us to pray and not give up (Luke 18:1). Faith is trusting God even when you cannot yet see what He is doing. Last week, we learned that faith is “trusting the Lord with all your heart and leaning not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Thus holding your grounds in God. Faith is journey which starts with hearing and accepting the Word - Jesus Christ (Romans 10:17); and continues with the direction of the Teacher - the Holy Spirit (John 16:12); through the means of interaction - Prayer (1Thessalonians 5:17). Faith’s first assignment is to bring man Salvation (Ephesians 2:8); and then continue to bring man wholeness (Galatians 2:20, Colossians 2:10); and then pushes the possibilities of God into a man’s life (Matthew 19:26). Faith is important if you want to please God (Hebrews 11:6), walk in His blessedness, and receive the promised Holy Spirit (Galatians 3:14). Losing your faith will cause situations to drown you and make you miss the promises of God (Hebrews 10:35). Faith will cause you to seek God in all situations, for it will give you a new lens through which you look at things. Picture a baby being thrown into the air by his/her father with smiles on the baby's face. The baby in the air forgets about all the dangers that surround him/her because he/she has only one assurance that his/her "father" would catch him/her at the end. So is Faith. Faith doesn’t mean there will be no situations of fear, dangers, and anxiety. Faith means fixing your eyes on the "Faithful Father," trusting that He will faithfully fulfill His promises unto you.
