Sooo often I wake up, and immediately feel behind 🌀😵‍💫⏰

Feet ain’t even touched the floor, bonnet hanging off my head, and my mind’s foot is on the gassss. Why do we so often treat ourselves like we’re supposed to be in constant upward trajectory? 

I’ve been thinking about other ways to tell time. What is the hour according to an apple? To the changing seasons? 

I often meet an old pattern and immediately turn it into a verdict on myself: how can you be here again?? 

But each fall, the trees, again, shed what they can no longer carry. Again, they dance off their leaves and preserve their energy to save their strength. I’d never ask a tree to be embarrassed by the season it’s in.
