5 years and some days ago, a video game would be released that would forever change my life. i’ve spent the past 6 years much like sunny, shut away inside and distracting myself from reality. when i first played omori in early 2021, i was a wreck. the whole month after i finished i would watch omori animatics non stop and cry everytime i heard final duet. even so, it wouldn’t be until much later that the true impact the game had on me would show. when i think of the characters, the music, the story, and everything in between, i feel it engrained every fiber of my being, every cell and atom that makes up who i am. but the impact of omori on my life goes so much deeper than just that. because of omori, i started creating. i had edited before, but nothing inspired me like omori did. i posted these edits to my account not expecting much to come from it, and for a while not much did. i got tons of enjoyment regardless of how many people saw my videos. but slowly, over time, more and more people found my edits. people would like them, favorite them, and comment about the impact i had on them (comments that mean more to me than i can ever express.) and then theres the omori rants. so much of my brain space is taken up by this game that writing about it is almost second nature. the words flow out of my fingers onto the screen, and i write pages upon pages of ramblings. that was always the most unbelievable part for me, that people would actually read what i had written. edits are eye catching and don’t require much of an attention span, but 30 slides full of text over analyzing a single game mechanic in omori most definitely does. and not only did people read them, they agreed with my analysis and were personally impacted by them. i wish i had the proper words to truly express how much omori means to me, but even more than that how much i appreciate everyone who’s ever watched my videos. editing and writing about omori have given me a purpose. my life is still made up of mundane activities to pass the time, and there’s a lot of things i’ve yet to accomplish. but knowing i’ve impacted even just one person gives me the strength to keep going day to day. thank you omori for changing my life and living in my heart always. happy 5 years!!! “though the pain remains, and though it might be hard, i’ll carry on.” -good morning #omori #omoriedit #omorianniversary #sunnyomori #mariomori @AVIX!!
