Let me put you on to Buddy’s Chicken & Waffles, a Black-owned gem in Tacoma, located right across the street from Lincoln High School. The second I walked in, I was greeted by this amazing, sweet aroma of waffles, and I just knew the food was about to slap. Before I even placed my order, I got to meet Buddy himself, who told me about all the different chicken and waffle options they serve. I got the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle with 2 hand-breaded chicken tenders Southern Cornbread Waffle with 2 hand-breaded chicken tenders and for my Halal fam, their chicken is Halal. While I waited for my food, I checked out the restaurant. They’ve got a TV, artwork on the walls by my girl Kay the Paint Lady, and even a bar if you’re in the mood for a little dranky-drank with your meal. When my food came out, the presentation was so on point that I almost didn’t want to touch it. But let’s be real—that wasn’t going to last long. The fires were fire! And the Buddy sauce they came with? Chef’s kiss. Now for the chicken. I tried one spicy tender and one regular. Peronsally, I liked the none spicey one better. The flavors and the crispiness were so on point that it didn’t even need sauce! The waffles, man the Southern Cornbread Waffle was perfectly balanced—not too sweet and not too cornbready (if you know, you know). And the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle? Whew, YUM. Nearly 30,000 pounds of beef imported from Argentina were recalled after entering the United States without the required import reinspection. And while officials haven't said the beef was contaminated, that's exactly the problem: because it wasn't properly reinspected, they can't verify that everything was okay. Now the U.S. is preparing to allow approximately 661 MILLION additional pounds of imported lean beef into the country to help address rising beef prices and the declining domestic cattle supply. So my question is... if almost 30,000 pounds of beef can make it into the U.S. without completing a required inspection, how are we feeling about hundreds of millions of additional pounds coming into the country? ⚽️ Can somebody pinch me because your girl officially made it to her first ever FIFA World Cup match! First things first, HUGE shoutout to my girl Marie Kidhe for the invite, it was so dope to experience the Egypt vs Iran match in person right here in Seattle. Now I will recommend that if you go, rather than driving, if you have, take the Light Rail or the bus! The traffic and parking is not worth it if you can avoid it. I will also note, Pioneer Square seems like a vibe, the night match hadn’t event started yet, and it was already getting packed, music was playing, food trucks was out, and the sun even came out for us. Now, I will say, when I got to the match, I was super surprised at how many people were over at Lumen and how easy it was to still move around the stadium. Like, shout out to everybody that was there because were definitely moving around in unison. But also, it’s something about football... It honestly feels like there’s a bit more aggression on the field. And maybe it’s because it’s FIFA, I don’t know, but I’m definitely pulling up to more matches because I really enjoyed the intensity and the additional aggression. And if you know me, you know I love wrestling, so me saying that shouldn’t even be a surprise, LOL. And yes... your girl definitely came home with a FIFA World Cup hat. I pulled up to Lockspot Cafe in Ballard thinking I was just stopping by for a quick bite, and ended up ordering more than I could eat! We started with the clam chowder and Dungeness crab artichoke dip, then dug into their famous halibut and chips, a chicken wing basket, and my producer's shrimp salad (because apparently somebody was making healthy choices that day 😂). The food was good, the staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood seafood spot, comfortable, laid-back, and easy to settle into for a while. And shoutout to the bartender who went off-script and created a custom brandy drink for me. Brunch at Farine Bakery & Café in Bellevue? YES PLEASE! We ordered the Eggs Benedict Croissant and a Belgian Hot Chocolate (I got almond milk + caramel because why not), and I must say, every single bite was hitting. The potatoes were crispy, the salad was fresh, and that croissant tasted like it had just come out of the oven. And can we talk about that hot chocolate? I went back in December and let me tell you something… the food has been living rent free in my mind ever since. The hot honey wings? Elite. The rockfish & southern grits with the Cajun sauce and collard greens? FIRE! And don’t even get me started on the Cajun seafood pasta because with the giant prawns, huge scallops, perfectly cooked salmon, OH, and let me not for get one of the BEST pasta sauces I’ve had in a minute. They honestly need to bottle that sauce up and sell it. I would totally buy it. Now… I know some people love acting like Puyallup is “far” but if we can casually drive to Portland for food and vibes, you can absolutely make the drive for some good food in state that’s actually worth it.  Funny enough, there was a time when taking photos in public made me so shy. I’d be worried about who was watching, what people were thinking, and my photos would come out awkward because I was too in my head. Even pulling out a tripod felt like a whole moment. I’d be like… “Why do I feel like everyone is staring at me?”
 But confidence with content really is a brick-by-brick situation. You don’t wake up with it… you build it. You start. You practice. You keep going. Now when I’m shooting in public, I honestly don’t even notice who’s around anymore. I just act like the space is mine and focus on the moment. And if someone does look? Half the time I’m like, “You want to get in the video too?”
 Truth is, most people aren’t judging you. They’re living their own lives. Some might even be thinking, dang, I wish I had the confidence to do that. And you never know… you stepping out might be the thing that gives someone else the courage to try too.
 So if you needed a sign to do that photoshoot in public… To pull out the tripod… To make the content… RThis is it.
