I was raised in an unhinged family. Now I’m raising my kids differently while figuring out what “normal” actually looks like. Collab [email protected]

I’ll go first. I raise my kids to feel safe hurting my feelings. Tell me no. Disagree with me. Set boundaries with me. Tell me when I’ve hurt you. I’m not raising kids who prioritize keeping me happy over being honest with me. I’m raising kids who know that even when I’m upset, they’re still safe to tell me the truth. 🤍 #breakinggenerationalcycles #cyclebreaking #gentleparenting #parentingunfiltered

🚨 Are we raising obedient kids… or kids who don’t know how to say NO? I don’t want my kids to blindly follow me. I want them to know the difference between right and wrong AND have the confidence to say no when something feels wrong — even when I’m not there. Because one day, I won’t be the one in the room. And I want my kids to have a backbone. 💪 Agree or disagree? 👇 #Parenting #ParentingOpinions #ConsciousParenting #RaisingKids #ParentingTips

I used to think everything had to be done before I could actually enjoy my home. The kitchen had to be spotless. The table had to be clean. Everything had to be just right before we could do the thing we wanted to do. And I didn’t realize how much of that I carried into adulthood. Today, I cleaned enough to bake cookies. There are still dishes in the sink. And I baked them anyway. 🤎 Maybe breaking cycles sometimes looks like big, obvious changes. And maybe sometimes it looks like letting yourself make cookies with your baby without needing the whole house to be perfect first. What’s something you learned growing up that you’re having to unlearn as an adult? #breakingcycles #childhoodtrauma #generationalhealing #motherhoodunfiltered #reallife

I posted this in 2024. The conversation hasn’t gone away — and neither has my concern for our daughters. The new federal women’s health initiative isn’t proof of a plan to ban abortion. But when you look at the reproductive-health policies that have come before it, I think we have every reason to keep asking questions. Who is making decisions about women’s healthcare? What will those decisions mean for our daughters? And why are we expected to stop being concerned when our reproductive rights are still being fought over? I hope our daughters inherit a world that proves these fears wrong. But I’m not going to stop paying attention. ❤️ #reproductiverights #womensrights #abortionrights #cyclebreaking #motherhood

Little me would never believe the kind of mom I’m trying to be for my kids. 🤎 I spend a lot of time thinking about the little girl I used to be and the childhood I wish she’d had. Sometimes healing looks like doing things differently. Sometimes it looks like making cookies with your daughter on an ordinary night. And sometimes it looks like realizing you’re becoming the mom you needed, even while you’re still healing from the one you had. Did you become the mom you needed as a child, too? Or are you still figuring it out? 🤎 #generationaltrauma #breakingthecycle #innerchildhealing #cyclebreakingmom #motherhood

That “problem behavior” might be communicating a need the child doesn’t know how to express. And I LOVE that my daughter made this connection herself. ❤️ Have you ever completely changed your perspective on a child after finding out what was happening underneath the behavior? #ParentingTok #Motherhood #ParentingLessons #ChildBehavior #GentleParenting

I thought I was dealing with a behavior problem. Then I heard what was underneath it. 💔 Part 2 is about the connection my daughter made on the drive home. #ParentingTok #Motherhood #KidsAreListening #ChildBehavior #GentleParenting

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to explain it all. If there’s something you’ve been carrying that you’re ready to get off your chest, this is your space. What are you tired of carrying? 🤍 #TraumaHealing #HealingJourney #EmotionalHealing #LetItOut #YouAreNotAlone

Maybe a peaceful life isn’t exciting every day. 🤎 Maybe it’s doing laundry, picking up your kids, making dinner, and realizing you’re not constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. When you grow up just trying to get through things, learning to enjoy an ordinary life can be its own kind of healing. I’m learning that boring doesn’t have to mean unhappy. Sometimes boring means safe. Sometimes it means peace. And sometimes, it’s everything I didn’t know I was allowed to have. Here’s to learning to live, not just survive. 🌱 What does a peaceful, ordinary day look like for you? #generationalhealing #breakingcycles #healingjourney #motherhoodunfiltered #cyclebreaker

Our job isn’t to raise kids who never get upset. It’s to help them learn what to do when they are. ❤️ I’m not a perfect mom, and my kids aren’t perfectly regulated all the time. We’re learning together. But I want them to know their feelings aren’t wrong, they can disagree with me, and they can always come to me while we figure things out. What helps your kids work through big feelings? 👇 #gentleparenting #emotionalregulation #cyclebreaking #consciousparenting #parentingtips

Sometimes the things we normalize in childhood are the very things we spend adulthood trying to heal from. Our kids don’t need perfect parents. They need parents who are willing to reflect, take accountability, and learn how to do things differently. A child having big emotions isn’t a behavior problem to shut down. It’s an opportunity to teach them that they can feel angry, overwhelmed, or upset and still be safe, loved, and supported. I know what it feels like to be the kid who needed more. And I refuse to pretend those experiences don’t follow us into adulthood. We can’t change the childhood we had, but we can change what we pass down. ❤️ What did you need from your parents when you were that kid? #generationaltrauma #cyclebreaking #childhoodtrauma #gentleparenting #healingjourney

I don’t want my kids to learn that helping the people you love means keeping score, resentment, or waiting for someone to notice. I want them to notice the little things that make someone else’s life better. 🤍 That’s the kind of cycle I want to break. #cyclebreaking #gentleparenting #parentingdifferently #breakingcycles #motherhood

I think sometimes we forget that our kids are going to compare. They’re going to notice the bigger house. The nicer car. The vacations. The things their friends have that they don’t. And I don’t want my kids to grow up believing that someone else’s timeline means they’re behind. There are a million different ways to build a life. ❤️ And honestly… I think a lot of adults need this reminder too. What’s one thing you want your kids to understand about comparison? #parenting #motherhood #cyclebreaking #gentleparenting #raisingkids

Last night’s video showed the messy part. This is the part that came before it. I’m realizing more and more that breaking cycles doesn’t mean creating a perfect home. Sometimes it means creating a home that feels completely different from the one you grew up in. ❤️ And sometimes that home is loud, chaotic, and someone is crying while you’re trying to make dinner. 😂 But my kids are allowed in my kitchen. They’re allowed to ask questions, make mistakes, help, and eventually learn how to feed themselves. That means more to me than a picture-perfect dinner ever could. #breakingthecycle #generationalhealing #momlife #parenting #reallife

I almost didn’t post this. Not because I’m proud of how I handled it, but because I’m not. I talk a lot about breaking generational cycles, and sometimes I think that gets mistaken for never losing your shit. I do. I’m human. I get overwhelmed. I yell. And then I have to own it, apologize, repair, and try again. My kids don’t need a perfect mom. They need a mom who can admit when she got it wrong. ❤️ #generationalhealing #breakingthecycle #momlife #parenting #unhinged
