Getting fired felt like the end at first. Turns out, it was the push I needed. Because if I’m being real, I probably would’ve stayed longer than I should have. Getting fired forced me to stop playing with the idea of building my virtual assistant business and finally go ALL IN. I bet on myself. And looking back? That “bad” thing was one of the biggest blessings of my life. Sometimes the thing that disrupts your comfort is the exact thing that pushes you toward what’s next. Episode 3: The Moment My Dream Became Expensive 😅 Two weeks later… and I was STILL trying to figure this virtual assistant thing out on my own. I didn’t have money saved up somewhere so I used everything FREE I could find. Google. TikTok. YouTube. If somebody was talking about virtual assisting, I was watching. But the deeper I got, the more overwhelmed I became. How do I find clients? What services do I offer? How much do I charge? How do contracts work? Invoices? Payments? Onboarding?! Every answer somehow gave me five more questions. 😩 I started second-guessing myself. Maybe I couldn’t figure this out on my own. I remember thinking, “I just need somebody to show me the plays so I can hit the ground running.” And then… I found her. I was scrolling one day when I came across a virtual assistant coach. I started going through her content, and she was explaining EVERYTHING I had been struggling to piece together. Then I saw it. She had a program that walked you through becoming a VA from A to Z. Immediately, I thought: “THIS IS IT. This is exactly what I need.” I grabbed my laptop, went to her website, found the program… …and then I saw the price. $1,297. My heart DROPPED. 😭 What most people didnt know was during this time, I was financially tapped out. I was barely making rent and keeping my bills paid. So where in the WORLD was I supposed to find an extra $1,297?! For a second, it felt like I had finally found my answer… but couldn’t afford to reach it. Still, something in me refused to let it go. I stared at that screen and told myself: “I don’t know HOW I’m going to pay for this… but I AM getting inside that program. God will show me the way!” And that’s exactly what I set out to do! Episode 2: This Was My Way Out I had no idea that one random TikTok before bed was about to have me up ALL NIGHT. 😭 After discovering virtual assisting, I couldn’t stop researching. One video turned into another… then another. I went down every rabbit hole I could find. Next thing I knew, it was 4:30 in the morning. The sun was starting to come up… and I had to be at that call center in a few hours. I went to work exhausted, but something was different. Physically, I was at my desk answering those back-to-back calls. Mentally? I had already left. I had my VA notebook beside me, researching between calls, taking notes, trying to figure out how people were actually making money doing this. I couldn’t focus on that job anymore because all I could think was: “Wait… this might actually be my way out.” Many times my boss would walk up behind me and scared me half to death. I had to close everything out and act like I had been focused on work the WHOLE time. 😩 But by the time I got home, I was SOLD. I would FaceTime my best friend every day talking about “Girl… THIS IS MY WAY OUT! These people are making $40 an hour working from HOME!” And in true bestie fashion, she was like: “Well, just do it then, sis!” I looked at her and said: “Oh, I’m on it.” And I meant that. Because for the first time, I wasn’t just complaining about wanting out… I finally felt like I had found my way out. Episode 3: Now I had to figure out how to actually become a VA. 👀. Part 1: Before Everything Changed Many people know pieces of my story, but if you’re new here… this was actually my life in 2021. Every morning, I clocked into a toxic call center already mentally exhausted. Back-to-back calls. Watching the clock. Counting down the minutes until my next break… and wondering how I was going to keep doing this every single day. In between calls, I’d be on Indeed applying to job after job, hoping somebody—ANYBODY—would give me a way out. Then lunch would come… but by the time I left, got my food, and finally made it to the break room, somehow my break was basically already over. 😩 And while I was sitting there trying to eat, I’d check my phone just to see another rejection email from one of the jobs I had applied to. “Unfortunately, we’ve decided to move forward with other candidates…” Then I’d clock back in and do it all over again. When I got home, I complained about that job to my best friend or honestly, anybody willing to listen. 😂 I was miserable, mentally drained, and tired of feeling like my life revolved around a job I hated. Until one night… I was lying in bed scrolling on TikTok when I came across something I had never really considered before: Virtual Assistant. And for the first time in a long time, I felt this tiny glimmer of hope. I didn’t know where it would lead me. I didn’t know what I was doing yet. I just knew one thing… Something had to change. I just want to make good money, wake up without rushing, book the trip, enjoy a random Tuesday and have some damn peace is that really too much to ask? It wasn’t so I built the life I wanted and it started from ONE decision. Betting on myself ❣️

I couldn’t have imagined 5 years ago, sitting at a job that drained me, that THIS would be my life today. Now my workdays are usually just a few hours a day. Checking in with my students, responding to brand emails, going live, and handling whatever needs my attention that day. And it all started with one decision: becoming a virtual assistant. I’m no longer taking on clients as a VA. These days, I’ve dedicated my time and energy to helping other women learn how to use their skills to do the same. I had no idea that one decision would open the door to the life and business I have now. Through experience I’ve learned your skills and experience can become a service or they can become a digital product or resource that helps someone else. There’s more than one path to more income and freedom. You don’t have to wait for someone to give you an opportunity. You can create your own. ❣️

I chose this life for my nervous system. I was tired of the Sunday night scaries. Tired of the anxiety kicking in the minute my alarm went off Monday morning. Tired of giving so much of myself to spaces I knew were never meant for me. So I took the same skills and experience I had been giving them for YEARS and used them to build my own virtual assistant business. Now those same skills give me more income, more time freedom, and most importantly… more peace. I didn’t need to start over. I just needed to start using what I already knew for me. And baby… my Mondays look a whole lot different now. ❣️

Society trained us to wait to be picked. I say… pick yourself. Your skills are worth more than one paycheck. Every job interview is you asking someone else to decide your worth. What if you decided it instead? #virtualassistant

The company may have moved on, but your experience came home with you. You don’t have to start over. You can take the skills you’ve already developed and build a service-based business offering things like administrative support, customer support, calendar management, email management, social media support, and more. TRUE STORY!!!! 🤏🏿 I didn’t lose, I had so much to gain! I didn’t need another raise, validation or praise. I used my knowledge, experience and skills and flipped it into a product that helped thousands of women!

Was I qualified enough? Would anyone actually pay me? What if I failed? Fear had an answer for everything. The problem is, fear will keep you exactly where you are if you let it. Good thing I didn’t listen. Over half a mil later that decision still changed everything.

Before the lives. Before the bundle. Before any of this I was on one on one calls with women in 2022 helping them build something for themselves. I don’t talk about things I haven’t lived. I don’t teach what I haven’t done. Every woman I’ve ever sat with, every call, every session it shaped me just as much as it shaped them. I loved becoming a virtual assistant. But what I loved even more was being in a position to guide, to support, to help someone see what was possible for them. That doesn’t stop. It just evolves. I’m stepping into a new chapter and if you’re still chasing freedom, more income, a life that’s truly yours I’m still taking you with me. Just a different path. The journey continues.🖤
