7 Questions You Need to Actually be Asking your Wedding Photographer Before You Hire Them.  1. Will you be the one actually showing up on my wedding day? Sadly outsourcing is becoming more and more common. If you hire a company and meet with them and like the chemistry between the two of you and then they send someone you have never met on a wedding day… well this can be problematic. 2. Do you have a back up plan in place? Gear failure, sd card failure, accidents. These all happen. High risk industry needs a back up plan in place. They should be able to answer this for you.  3. What is your delivery timeline? Make sure the answer to this question is clear and matches what’s in your contract. It gives your leverage incase of an emergency. 4. How do you approach capturing a wedding day? Do you primarily pose and direct moments, work completely hands-off, or find a balance between the two? You should understand what it will actually feel like to be photographed. They should explain how they capture genuine moments while stepping in with direction when it helps create a stronger image. 5. How do you balance getting beautiful photos with letting us enjoy our wedding day? The answer should be simple. It revolves around what you want. Working efficiently and balancing what you want accomplished. A photographer timeline is so important. The photographer you are interviewing should be constructing one so you can see exactly how much time you need to accomplish all of these things. The more structured it’s built the better less chaotic the wedding day is.
