Is 16GB of RAM Still Enough for Gaming in 2026? 16GB still works, but modern games are getting a lot hungrier. Open-world games, mods, sims and big texture packs can push close to 16GB on their own, and Windows, Discord, your browser and background apps all take a share too. Once you run out, your PC leans on the SSD and you get stutters. RAM prices are rough right now, but if you find a good deal or you're building anyway, go 32GB. #RAM #32GB #16GB #DDR5 #DDR4

Nvidia's RTX Spark Laptops Cost Up to $7,000 The first Nvidia RTX Spark laptops are here, built on Nvidia's own Arm-based platform with unified memory shared by the CPU and GPU. Prices start around $2,600 for 24GB and climb to nearly $7,000 for 128GB, yet Nvidia claims only RTX 5070-class performance. These are built for local AI work, not gaming. If you want a gaming laptop, your money goes a lot further elsewhere. #Nvidia #RTXSpark #GamingLaptop #Laptop #Arm

Is Nvidia Ending RTX 5090 Production? A new report says Nvidia is halting production and sales of the RTX 5090 and its China variants. The reason: the same GB202 chip earns far more in AI and professional cards like the RTX Pro 6000. Nvidia hasn't confirmed it, but if it's true, 5090 prices could climb even higher once remaining stock runs out. Is Nvidia being greedy here? #Nvidia #RTX5090 #GPU #GraphicsCard #GPUPrices

In the 2026 PC gaming market, buying used has become the ultimate way to fight back memory prices. By buying used RAM, you’re not taking on a lot of risk, as it’s one of the most stable parts in a PC that can last over a decade. #pcgaming #ram #ddr5 #ramprices #gamingpc

Is 8GB of VRAM Enough in 2026? The Truth 8GB of VRAM still holds up for 1080p gaming. The trouble starts when you stack 1440p, high textures, ray tracing and big open-world games, and the game needs more memory than your card has. That's when you see texture pop-in, hitching and frametime spikes. Pick the resolution and settings you actually play at, and 8GB can still make sense if the card is priced right. #VRAM #8GB #GPU #GraphicsCard #RTX3060Ti

What Tier Is Your Power Supply? Your PSU is the one part that can take everything else down with it. Find the model name on the label, look it up on the SPL PSU Tier List, and see where it lands. A and B tiers handle mid to high-end builds, C is fine for budget systems, D is for office PCs with no GPU, and E and F shouldn't be used at all. And remember: 80 Plus Gold rates efficiency, not quality. #PSU #PowerSupply #PSUTierList #GamingPC #PCBuild

AMD's Next GPUs Are Over a Year Away At Computex, board partners said they expect AMD's next-gen RDNA 5 cards in the second half of 2027, possibly slipping into 2028. Nvidia's 50 Super refresh is reportedly shelved and the RTX 60 series is rumored for late 2027 or later. No new launches means no push on current prices, and GPU prices rose about 15% in a single month this summer. #AMD #Radeon #RDNA5 #Nvidia #GPU

Can You Actually Tell DLSS From FSR? ComputerBase ran a blind image quality test with thousands of gamers across six games at 4K. DLSS 4.5 took 48% of the vote, native resolution 24%, FSR 4 15%, and nearly 13% couldn't pick a winner. DLSS is sharper and handles foliage, fences and motion better; FSR 4 is softer but close at higher quality settings. The real surprise: almost two thirds picked an upscaled image over native. #DLSS #FSR #Nvidia #AMD #GPU

3 PC Parts That Perform Like New When Bought Used Some PC parts barely age at all. RAM has no moving parts and runs at stable temps and voltages. An air cooler's heatsink doesn't wear out; only the fan does, and that's a cheap swap. And a PC case doesn't lose performance with age; clean it, check the front I/O, and it's like new at half the cost. #pcparts #RAM #DDR4 #CPUCooler #PCCase

A GPU Upgrade Costs LESS Watts. Here’s How! If you’re upgrading from an older GPU, you may be able to actually save watts, instead of adding more on! For example, a 5060 is significantly more efficient than a 3060, giving you more FPS while consuming less watts. No need to upgrade the PSU! #powersupply #gpuupgrade #gamingpc #pcgaming #rtx3060

Micron Just Killed the Memory Chip Inside Your 50 Series GPU Micron has marked its 2GB GDDR7 modules end of life, and that's the exact density a lot of current gaming cards are built from. An 8GB RTX 5060, for example, is usually four 2GB GDDR7 chips. Micron is shifting toward 3GB modules instead, which are more useful for workstation and AI GPUs where the margins are far better. This won't kill low-VRAM RTX 50 supply, since Samsung and SK Hynix still make 2GB GDDR7 and already cover most of the gaming market. But it is one fewer supplier at a moment when memory is already under pressure. #Micron #GDDR7 #VRAM #GPU #GraphicsCard

His RTX 5090 Melted and PNY Denied the Warranty A PNY RTX 5090 owner says both ends of his 12V-2x6 power cable melted, at the card and at the PSU, and the GPU died completely. He wasn't using a sketchy aftermarket adapter either; it was the native cable that shipped with his ASRock power supply. PNY allegedly denied the claim because the card wasn't powered by a PNY-approved cable, a requirement he says he couldn't find anywhere in their published warranty. He also says the card was stock, power limited, and idle when it failed. Worth noting we only have his side, and PNY hasn't confirmed this as general policy. #RTX5090 #PNY #Nvidia #GPU #GraphicsCard

Gaming Laptops Are Getting Hit by the RAM Crisis Too. If you assumed laptop memory would escape the RAM shortage, it didn't. DDR5 laptop memory has surged roughly 6x in twelve months, and those costs are now reaching the sticker price: makers have announced increases of around $100 to $228 across most gaming laptop models, with one professional model up $342. XMG says SSDs, PCBs, CPUs, graphics cards and video memory are all climbing too, and doesn't expect relief until late 2027. Buying a gaming laptop in 2026 means memory capacity matters more than ever. #GamingLaptop #RAMPrices #DDR5 #LaptopRAM #PCGaming

Someone Got DLSS Running on an AMD GPU A developer quietly released a project called D4R that gets DLSS running on AMD hardware. It leans on ZLUDA, which converts CUDA into workloads non-Nvidia chips can handle, making DLSS's library readable on AMD silicon. Right now it only works on Navi 32 cards like the RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT, it is experimental, and it is Linux and Proton only. So it is proof that DLSS on AMD is possible, not something you can rely on yet. #DLSS #AMD #Nvidia #GPU #GraphicsCard

Micro Center Is Great. It's Also Only in 30 Cities. Micro Center genuinely is one of the best places to build a PC. The deals are real, the combos are real, the supply is real. The catch is that there are only about 30 stores nationwide and online orders are mostly in-store pickup, so for most of the country it isn't an option at all. Jawa is the runner up that everyone can actually reach: a marketplace built for gamers, discounted parts, custom builds from independent builders, and no scalping allowed. #MicroCenter #PCBuild #GamingPC #PCGaming #BuildAPC

If you built on a Ryzen 5000 or older, you remember the pins on the bottom of the chip. AMD dropped them with the 7000 series and moved to LGA, the flat contact design Intel had been using for years. PGA was running out of room, and AM5 needed far more electrical connections for DDR5, PCIe 5.0, extra I/O and higher power delivery. The bonus: those fragile pins now live in the motherboard socket, which costs a lot less to replace than the CPU. #AMD #Ryzen #CPU#AM4 #gamingpc

Steam's Hardware Survey shows what people are actually running, and the top three are closer than you would guess. The RTX 3060 leads at 3.76%, the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU sits second at 3.63%, and the RTX 5070 is third at 3.56%. A laptop chip landing that high says a lot about how much gaming happens on laptops, even though desktops get all the attention. #Steam #GPU #GraphicsCard#GamingLaptop #GamingPC

Nvidia Is Dropping Windows 10 Game Ready Drivers If you are running an Nvidia card on Windows 10, October is the last month you will get a Game Ready driver. Your GPU will not stop working, and Nvidia is continuing quarterly updates for critical bug fixes and security. What stops is the optimization work for new games. Plenty of people already game fine on cards that left Game Ready support years ago, from the GTX 970 to the 1080. #Windows10 #GPU #GraphicsCard #PCGaming #GamingPC

Valve Made the Steam Frame's Best Accessories Paid DLC The Steam Frame is a $1,059 premium VR headset, and it ships without a few things most people assume are in the box. The 45W power supply is another $30. The ergonomic kit, with the controller hand straps, top strap and extended light blocker, is another $60. None of it is strictly required, but owners say the straps make enough difference to comfort that they should have been included at that price. #SteamFrame #Valve #VR #VRGaming #PCVR #PCGaming #GamingPC

Gigabyte Just Patched an 8.8 Severity Vulnerability Gigabyte pushed an emergency update to its Control Center software after a vulnerability let malicious programs reach the deepest level of Windows. That could mean shutting off your antivirus, or taking full control through an app most people only open to change fan curves and RGB. Gigabyte rated it 8.8 out of 10 for severity. It is already patched, so if you have a Gigabyte board, go get the update. #Gigabyte #Motherboard #PCSecurity #PCGaming#GamingPC

A new RTX 5060 runs about $450, roughly 50% over MSRP, for just 8GB of VRAM. A used RTX 4060 Ti gets you basically the same raw performance with 16GB instead of eight, for about $100 less. With no new 50-series launches closing that gap this year, VRAM is the spec you don't want to be short on. Plenty of 4060 Tis are selling on Jawa for under $400. #RTX4060Ti #RTX5060 #GPU #VRAM #buildwithjawa

Steam Frame Is 2x the Price of a Quest 3. Here's Why. Valve's Steam Frame costs $1,059 compared to a Quest 3's $599, nearly double the price. The Frame adds eye tracking that saves bandwidth for cleaner PC streaming over its own private Wi-Fi 6E channel, a more powerful Qualcomm chip with 16GB of RAM for standalone play, a sharper display with a higher refresh rate, and a lighter, more balanced design with the battery moved to the back strap. #SteamFrame #Valve #VR #Quest3 #PCGaming

Air Cooler or AIO: Which Should You Actually Buy? Liquid cooling looks like the upgrade, but a $41 air cooler lands within two degrees of a $150 one, and within a few degrees of AIOs costing triple.
