Our team took the project information and turned it into a detailed 3D model showing the building, site grading, access areas, contours, and surrounding features. A machine control install isn’t always as simple as bolting on the hardware. This one is a skip loader with a hydraulic valve installation completed by the DirtPrep team. The hydraulic valve is an important part of the setup because it allows the machine control system to communicate with the machine’s hydraulics and make the necessary adjustments while grading. There’s a fair amount that goes into getting everything working correctly. From the hydraulic installation and machine measurements to calibration and testing, the details matter. But when you start looking at the grading, there's quite a bit happening in a limited amount of space. The model shows how the elevations change across the property, where the slopes transition, and how the finished surface ties into the surrounding area. Those details matter, especially on commercial sites where you're working around buildings, parking areas, driveways, and existing roads. One thing worth paying attention to in this video is the color variation across the model. It helps illustrate the elevation changes that aren't always obvious when looking at a flat set of plans.
