A little wine country, right here in Wisconsin. 🍷 From Cedarburg to Kohler, we’ve had the opportunity to help bring The Blind Horse experience to two distinct destinations across our region. And now, The Blind Horse Terrace brings something entirely new to Kohler, Wisconsin. 🐎 The Terrace expands that experience across two levels, with bar + dining spaces that open directly to the outdoors. From the signature silo and spiral staircase to layers of natural materials and warm finishes, the space feels elevated without losing the relaxed hospitality The Blind Horse is known for. ✨ We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in bringing The Terrace Bar to life, and even more excited about the kinds of destinations being created right here in Wisconsin. Welcome to The Blind Horse Terrace. 🥂 Coming soon to the portfolio! 👀 #HospitalityDesign #WisconsinDesign #KohlerWisconsin #RestaurantDesign #TheBlindHorse

The sample → the space. ✨   A first look at The Blind Horse Terrace Bar, our latest hospitality addition in Kohler, Wisconsin.   Selected for both its character and durability, we used Saltillo porcelain tile to frame the patio bar, creating a defined moment of pattern against the dark millwork & warm wood tones of this indoor/outdoor space.   Every detail plays a role in the experience, from the materials underfoot to the atmosphere they help create. Your summer date spot just got a whole lot better. 🍷    We can’t wait to share the full reveal of this new winery destination.   Hospitality Design | Architecture & Interior Design | Kohler, Wisconsin | Bar & Winery Design | Thoughtful Interiors | Commercial Design | The Blind Horse

Artful living starts with thoughtful design. ✨ Before the walls of #TheMCMLakeHouse were drawn, we considered the atmosphere we wanted to create within them. How natural light would move through the home. Where your eye would travel from one room to the next. How the architecture could frame both the art inside and the Lake Michigan shoreline beyond. 🌊 At Distinctive Design Studio, our architects & interior designers consider these relationships from the earliest stages of design. We look beyond individual rooms to understand how light, views, architecture, + interiors intertwine. Because we believe atmosphere should be part of the design, not an afterthought. 💫 Ready to create a home that considers more than the floor plan? If you like slow, intentional living, you’re in the right place 🫶   From Chicago to Wisconsin, our clients traded city life for a quieter place along Lake Michigan, bringing their love for mid-century design, art, and nature with them.    For the MCM Lake House, we thought about what they wanted their days here to actually look like. Morning coffee overlooking the water. Time spent in the garden. Rooms that change with the light throughout the day. And the calming presence of Lake Michigan woven into their everyday routines. 🌊   Those details became the starting point for the home itself. Because the best homes don’t just reflect your style. They create space for the life you want to live.   Welcome to the MCM Lake House. This mid-century modern lake house is making its way to our portfolio soon 👀 #customhome #lakehouse #lakemichigan #wisconsin #midcenturymodern

Our kind of lake life. 🌊   For our clients, a home on the lake isn’t just about having a great view. It’s about what that view makes possible. It’s windows open to the breeze and the familiar sound of boats passing by. Long weekends with a house full of your favorite people, where everything seems to revolve around the water. It’s heading out for an evening boat ride and somehow feeling even more relaxed when you pull back in and come home. 🏡   Our clients come to us because they want more than a collection of beautiful rooms. They want a home that feels personal to them, responds to its surroundings, and creates an experience they can’t find anywhere else. 🖤   That’s what we love about designing homes on the water. The architecture, interiors, materials and details all have a role to play, but ultimately, we’re designing for everything that happens between them. ✨   This is #BaywaterRevival, and this is our kind of lake life. 🌊 #homerenovation #lakehouse #wisconsin #intentionalliving

At The MCM Lake House, every room was designed around the life our clients imagined after leaving the city—from slow mornings with coffee overlooking Lake Michigan to evenings spent gathering with family and friends.
