They say babies learn best through love… and today, I got to witness exactly that. 🥹💛 My son decided to put on his own little "Ms. Rachel" performance for his baby sister, and she was completely mesmerized from start to finish. No script. No rehearsal. Just a big brother pouring love into his little sister. Moments like these remind me that the greatest teachers in a child's life are often the people who love them most. #BigBrother #SiblingGoals #MsRachel #BabyGirl #FamilyMoments

Your child eating only a few foods may be more than a picky eating phase. ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) can affect a child's nutrition, growth, and relationship with food. Not every picky eater has ARFID, but persistent food restriction deserves attention. #arfidawareness #PickyEater #eating #ChildNutrition #parentingtips

Saturday morning before 6 AM and the whole squad is UP! 😭😂 Monday through Friday, we need a construction crew to get these kids out of bed. But Saturday? Apparently, they have a meeting with the sun! ☀️🤣 Parents, what time do your kids wake up on Saturday? Please tell us we’re not alone! 😂👇 #parentingtips #Parentinghumor #FunnyKids #ParentingStruggles #funny

Your child isn't always challenging you. Sometimes they're trying to understand you. 🧠 The “WHY?” phase can be exhausting—but it can also be an incredible opportunity to build curiosity and critical thinking. Parents, what's the funniest question your child has asked? 👇 #why #raisingkids #parenting #parentingtips #pediatrics

Water should be the default drink for most kids. 💧 Soda, sweetened beverages, and sports drinks should not be everyday drinks—and juice should be limited, especially in young children. When possible, choose whole fruit over juice. Small changes in what our kids drink can make a big difference over time. #soda #juice #healthykids #ChildNutrition #ParentingTips

📚 READ TO YOUR CHILDREN. START EARLY. MAKE IT A HABIT. You don’t have to wait until your child can talk—or until they start school. The AAP recommends shared reading beginning in infancy, even during the newborn period. Reading together supports language, vocabulary, early literacy, cognitive development, and parent-child connection. ❤️ It doesn’t have to be complicated. A few minutes, a favorite book, and your undivided attention can become one of the most valuable parts of your child’s day. And yes… if they want the same book 27 times, read it again! 😂📖 Put down the phone. Pick up a book. Read with your child. #childdevelopment #read #EarlyLiteracy #ParentingTips #book

“It’s viral” does NOT mean “your child isn’t sick” or “there’s nothing we can do.” It means your child is sick, but antibiotics are not expected to help. Our job is to support your child through the illness—hydration, comfort, fever control when needed, rest, and monitoring for warning signs. We don’t have to identify every virus for your child to get appropriate care. Sometimes, knowing the exact virus simply won’t change the treatment. Viral doesn’t mean nothing. Viral means supportive care matters. ❤️ #viral #infection #sickkids #firsttimemom #parentingtips

Breast swelling, vaginal discharge, even a little bleeding—these can all happen in newborns because of maternal hormones. ❤️ Most are temporary and normal, but knowing what to expect can prevent unnecessary worry. Don’t squeeze or massage swollen breast tissue, and always call your pediatrician if something doesn’t look right. #Newborn #NewbornTips #NewbornCare #ParentingTips #firsttimemom

I spoke with a mother who reminded me just how heavy the journey can be for parents raising children with disabilities. To the parents who are exhausted, who grieve what they wish could have been, and who wonder what the future holds: I see you. You are not alone. And it’s okay to ask for help. ❤️ And to our children: you are not defined by what you cannot do. Your life has value, purpose, and meaning. Give yourself—and your child—grace. ❤️ #SpecialNeedsParenting #DisabilityAwareness #Neurodiversity #parentingtips #autism

Parents—if your teen works out, don't just ask HOW they are training. Ask WHAT they are taking before they train. Pre-workout + energy drinks + other stimulants can mean a LOT of caffeine and other ingredients being consumed at once. For adolescents, the foundation should be nutrition, hydration, sleep, proper training, and recovery—not supplements and stimulants. And please don't assume “natural” or “over-the-counter” automatically means safe. Ask the question: “What are you taking before you work out?” #workout #gym #ParentingTeens #SportsNutrition #preworkout

🎗️ Childhood cancer is rare, but knowing the warning signs matters. Most of these symptoms are NOT cancer—but persistent, unexplained, or worsening symptoms deserve a conversation with your child's pediatrician. And parents: trust your instincts. ❤️ #childhoodcancerawareness #ChildhoodCancer #cancer #ChildHealth #cancersurvivor

🚨 Parents, this is one of those things you hope your child never needs—but you NEED them to know it. Can your child tell someone: 📱 Your real name ☎️ Your phone number 🏠 Your home address And if they’re old enough, teach them what to do if they ever get separated from you or need help. Don’t assume they know it just because they hear it all the time. Practice it with them. Turn it into a little game and repeat it until they can confidently say it without hesitation. One day, knowing this information could make all the difference. ❤️ Save this and send it to another parent! #ParentingTips #childsafety #Pediatrician #ParentingHacks #safe

Postpartum mental health is REAL. 🗣️ Stop telling mothers they should “just be happy,” that they’re “just tired,” or that they should have gotten over it by now. Postpartum depression can look different in everyone, and there is no one-size-fits-all timeline. And postpartum psychosis? That is a medical emergency—not something to pray away, sleep off, or ignore. You can love your baby deeply and still be struggling. You can be grateful and still need help. Needing help does NOT make you a bad mother. And please—don’t just ask, “How’s the baby?” Ask “How are YOU doing?” ❤️ #PostpartumDepression #PostpartumPsychosis #PostpartumMentalHealth #newmom #postpartum

An evaluation is not a label—it’s information. ❤️ I understand the fear of stigma, but getting your child evaluated doesn’t define them. It helps us understand their strengths, identify their needs, and connect them with support when needed. Don’t let the fear of a label prevent your child from getting the help they deserve. #ParentingTips #ChildDevelopment #EarlyIntervention #Autism #firsttimemom

Parents, don’t wait until the night before school starts to fix your child’s sleep schedule! If your child has been staying up late and sleeping in all summer, start shifting that schedule now. Gradually move bedtime earlier, wake them earlier, get some morning sunlight, and create a consistent bedtime routine. A smooth transition from summer sleep → school sleep takes time! 😴 Better sleep = better focus, learning, mood, and school performance. Save this for later and send it to a parent who needs the reminder! 📚❤️ #BackToSchool #Sleep #ParentingTips #ChildrensHealth #wakeup

As a pediatrician, one of the hardest things to see is when an older child is expected to be a third parent instead of simply being a sibling. Helping around the house is healthy. Feeling responsible for raising your brothers and sisters is not. Children deserve the chance to grow, play, make mistakes, and enjoy their own childhood—not carry adult responsibilities before they're ready. Let's normalize raising siblings who support each other without expecting one child to parent the others. What's your perspective on this? Share your thoughts respectfully in the comments. 💙 #parentingtips #parents #siblings #childhood #childhoodtrauma

For years, many of us grew up hearing, "Finish everything on your plate." 🍽️ But did you know that healthy children are often naturally good at knowing when they're hungry and when they're full? As parents, our job is to offer healthy foods. Our children's job is to decide how much they eat. Teaching kids to listen to their body's hunger and fullness cues can help build a healthier relationship with food for years to come. Did your parents make you clean your plate? Do you do it with your kids? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! 👇 This advice is for healthy children who are growing well. If your child has medical or growth concerns, talk with your pediatrician for individualized guidance. #childhealth #firsttimemom #firsttimeparent #feedingkids #parenting
