I'm a travel agent and let me tell you why you should not pay in full on your reservation right away when you book it. Alright, so first things first, you find a cruise online, it's midnight, it looks like a great deal. You want to book it. Okay, fine, book it. But do not pay that cruise in full. You need to wait. And there are two reasons why you need to wait on that final payment, until final payment. First off is you need to use a travel agent. And the only way you can transfer your reservation that you booked in the middle of the night to a travel agent is to have a balance on your booking. If you pay for it in full, there is no way you can transfer that reservation to a travel agent, even if it's right away. Second thing is you cannot apply any promotions that come out to your reservation if it's paid and full. If the balance is zero, it's done. No more promotions can be applied to your reservation.
