If you’ve even begun to wonder what’s inside this giant peach… Here’s your first look. 🍑✨ Big heart. Bold characters. And a cast that’s ready to make you believe. Nov 7–9 • easternshorerep.org #ESRT #jamesandthegiantpieach #rehearsal #dressrehearsal @mtishows @iTheatricsOfficial

🐉 Part Five. Every pilot is a leap of faith. It’s where the rules haven’t been written yet and where imagination leads. How to Train Your Dragon JR was built for communities everywhere. No matter the budget, the tech, or the space, this story proves that theatre begins with the simplest ingredients: bodies, breath, and courage. Writer Kate Thomas reminds us: the miracle is stepping into the truth of who you are. That’s Hiccup’s story. And it’s our story too. On October 7, our company of forty young performers will step into that truth in Central Park. A premiere that begins here, but belongs everywhere. 📍 Central Park — Naumburg Bandshell 🗓 Oct 7 • 1 PM Book: @katethomaswrites Lyrics: @katethomaswrites @veronica_mansour Music: @veronica_mansour Director: @erinlangleyperformance Choreographer: @mjkdanceworks Music Director: @vict0rialourdes Costume Design: @costumer.shirlee @mayh.see @rdefnall Scenic Design: @rdefnall Sound Design: @karlwlangley_official Stage Management: @devon_238 Video Production: @itsmattgates @craftshowdigital Graphic Art: @beth_glisson #HowToTrainYourDragonJR #ESRT #PilotProduction #TheatreLeadership #MovementIsStory @mtishows @iTheatricsOfficial

🐉 Part Four. Every great story needs its heroes. Astrid, Hiccup, Toothless—and the dragons—each bring their own heartbeat to How to Train Your Dragon JR. In this pilot production, our actors aren’t just stepping into roles. They’re helping invent how these characters will live onstage for theatres everywhere. It’s part character study, part experiment. A reminder that when you’re building something brand new, discovery is the story. 📍 Central Park — Naumburg Bandshell 🗓 Oct 7 • 1 PM Book: @katethomaswrites Lyrics: @katethomaswrites @veronica_mansour Music: @veronica_mansour Director: Erinlangleyperformance Choreographer: @mjkdanceworks Music Director: @vict0rialourdes Costume Design: @costumer.shirlee @mayh.see Scenic Design: @rdefnall Sound Design: @karlwlangley_official Stage Management: @devon_238 Video Production: @itsmattgates @craftshowdigital Graphic Art: @beth_glisson #HowToTrainYourDragonJR #ESRT #PilotProduction #TheatreLeadership #Ensemble @Junior Theater Festival @iTheatricsOfficial @mtishows

🐉 Part Three. How do you stage dragons in the middle of Central Park, in broad daylight, with no special effects? You make the cast the special effect. Our dragons aren’t costumes or puppets. They’re built from pure movement. A company of young performers who can shift from one giant dragon to many smaller ones in an instant. When they breathe together, you feel the power of one. When they break apart, you see the soul in each. That’s ensemble. That’s theatre. 📍 Central Park — Naumburg Bandshell 🗓 Oct 7 • 1 PM Book: @katethomaswrites Lyrics: @katethomaswrites @veronica_mansour Music: @veronica_mansour Director: Erinlangleyperformance Choreographer: @mjkdanceworks Music Director: @vict0rialourdes Costume Design: @costumer.shirlee @mayh.see Scenic Design: @rdefnall Sound Design: @karlwlangley_official Stage Management: @devon_238 Video Production: @itsmattgates @craftshowdigital Graphic Art: @beth_glisson #HowToTrainYourDragonJR #ESRT #PilotProduction #TheatreLeadership #Ensemble

🐉 Part Two. In our pilot of How to Train Your Dragon JR, Hiccup and Toothless begin from opposite worlds. No shared language, only vulnerability. Theatre asks us to translate story through a different lens. Instead of technology, we rely on the body: gesture, movement, and breath as the bridge between characters. In that space, honesty emerges. Intuition builds trust. Trust becomes friendship. And the story finds its heartbeat. 📍 Central Park — Naumburg Bandshell 🗓 Oct 7 • 1 PM Book: @katethomaswrites Lyrics: @katethomaswrites @veronica_mansour Music: @veronica_mansour Director: @erinlangleyperformance Choreographer: @mjkdanceworks Music Director: @vict0rialourdes Costume Design: @costumer.shirlee @mayh.see Scenic Design: @rdefnall Sound Design: @karlwlangley_official Stage Management: @devon_238 Video Production: @itsmattgates @craftshowdigital Graphic Art: @beth_glisson #HowToTrainYourDragonJR #ESRT #PilotProduction #TheatreLeadership #Ensemble

🐉 It begins. We are proud to launch a five-part reel series documenting our pilot production of How to Train Your Dragon JR, created in partnership with DreamWorks Theatricals and MTI. Pilots are about more than performance. They set the precedent for how stories will live on stages across the country. With no existing model to copy, this work becomes equal parts artistry and leadership. Follow along as Eastern Shore Rep charts a path forward: a new kind of dragon story, built for the stage. 📍 Central Park — Naumburg Bandshell 🗓 Oct 7 • 1 PM Book: @katethomaswrites Lyrics: @katethomaswrites @veronica_mansour Music: @veronica_mansour Director: @erinlangleyperformance Choreographer: @mjkdanceworks Music Director: @vict0rialourdes Costume Design: @costumer.shirlee @mayh.see Scenic Design: @rdefnall Sound Design: @karlwlangley_official Stage Management: @devon_238 Video Production: @itsmattgates @craftshowdigital Graphic Art: @beth_glisson #HowToTrainYourDragonJR #ESRT #PilotProduction #TheatreLeadership #Ensemble
