As a reiki practitioner, I never thought Reiki would be my thing. When I first took my training back in 2018, (or was it 2019??!) I thought it would just be an interesting weekend seminar. Where I would gather some clarity on the secrets of the universe and go back to my life as a ski bum. How cute. Even after the certification, I put it down. I didnāt understand it, and too many questions had popped up that had never been answered. I forgot about it for a time, and then picked it back up almost by happenstance. Wood, I returned to was a deep curiosity of understanding energy work beyond the spiritual. I needed the science behind it all. So I dug and dug. I read and explored and listened. I learned about the nervous system, quantum physics, neurology, trauma, and so much more. I gathered the knowledge to let me actually surrender into the teachings of Reiki through a science and spirituality lens, not leaving either side behind. This video got long, so Iāll pop in with pt. 2 soon! Stay tuned š©µš

Pt 5: spending my my mental energy on body image hurdles I thought Iād worked through š„ Some of yall loved being pregnant since day 1, and that wasnāt me. My review of pregnancy in general is that has been 10x more mental than physical for me. It was hard to watch my body change so rapidly, especially when I was proud of the body id worked for over the last few years. (Shockingā another grief!!) Now Iām a firm believer that all of these mental shifts are not only peak health presenting in the most astounding way, but also that this equips us mentally for the birthing and mothering process too. Obviously Iām projecting into the future, but still here to claim it š Everyoneās journey is different of course, but I wonder who else is out there who can relate to this sentiment? What startled you?? Iāll go first: not fitting into my maternity clothes, n!pples changing entirely, jaw pain⦠weāll stop there for now! #36weeks

No shade to anyone who got more rigid around their diet in pregnancy. I thought Iād be the same, after many years of experimenting with what works best for my system and generally being more health-conscious. Yet in this moment, for me, releasing control has been medicine. Maybe Iām validating my sugar addiction currently, but hear me out. Itās more meta than physical, perhaps⦠Releasing control is medicine to prepare for birth. For motherhood. Trusting my body to handle what comes is medicine for me. Letting myself focus my energy on other pursuits is important to me with so much going on. Indulging in my whims before life shifts completely also feels life-giving, in its own way. Do I want @thefreezeavl for the third time this week? Obviously. Do I want a vat of cottage cheese? Hell yes. Whatever!! Who cares!! Iām literally building a life!! And donāt get it twisted, I know the other side of the coin. But this is the side Iām choosing right now, and that is allowed to feel good. End rant xoxo PS donāt let sh*t audio stop you from postingā itās not that deep!

I was down at the river and noticed this line in the water. First, I thought it might be some sort of long warm like thing? Nope. I threw multiple stones, and brushed through it with a stick. Itās a pattern in the water. I sat there for over 20 minutes, and it didnāt change. It didnāt disappear. So someone please tell me, how does this get created?! also, am I crazy for feeling like this was total magic?! #m#mystery

I formulated this deck with my *sister* Eden, not card š„² the holiday fog has clearly not lifted yet. The more we answer these questions about our dad, the more I feel like I get to know him. Yes, obviously I knew him in this life, and I might inherently know the answers to these questions already, but putting energy and intention into thinking about and answering them makes me feel close to my dad in a brand new way, and one I know he appreciates, as he was never an attention seeking, ālook at meā kind of guy. š¤ #grief #carddeck #deaddadclub

Day 23 of sharing a seat at the table card deck! What a gift to know this answer so quickly. Dad had many accomplishments and he would not even think of any of them except for creating our family. I miss that guy. #grief #carddeck #therapy

Day 22 of sharing a seat at the table card deck, and this continues to crack me up and blow me away. There are I believe 83 cards in this deck and the fact that I keep pulling the same ones twice in a row is to me a wink from dad. And also honoring the fact that holidays are just freaking hard. And even if much of them is beautiful and good and celebratory, the pockets of Grief are still present and real. Check on your friends. ##grief##deaddadclub##carddeck

I canāt believe this happened!! But also totally can. Dad says hi and the funniest of moments and in the silliest of ways, which totally checks out for him. We created this card deck after he died and really because he died. We want to keep sharing about him, because he is still such a light in our lives. There are a few decks left. Claim yours and talk about the people you love this holiday season!

Day 20 of sharing this card deck until it finds its people!! This is such a perfect stocking stuffer for people who care. People who have lost people who they love. People who have people in their life who have lost people they have loved. So pretty much everyone

Day 19- phew! Humility and integrity are the words that come to my mind when I think of my dad- the āmeasure twice, cut onceā mentality was an integral part of who he was: precise, efficient, and always doing things the right way, even when it was the hard way. #grief #therapy #stockingstuffers

Wowowow just so we are all aware, the odds of picking the same card again is like 1.2% soooooo you know that I will always choose these moments to be moments of Connection, not coincidence! Hi dad. Dad would want to choose this boogie card. He would choose the silly thing. Love you Pops. #grief #holidaygrief #griefandlove
