TEHILLAH EXPERIENCE 2026: THE CROSS, THE COSTUME AND THE ENTRY Following the successful 13th edition of Tehillah Experience themed The Altar of Fire held at The Oil Dome Royalhouse Chapel, there have been many commentaries on the ceremonial costume worn by Host Ohemaa Mercy. We wish to offer this biblical editorial to provide clarity. At this years Tehillah Experience, Ohemaa Mercy did not just mount the stage. She made an altar entry. Long before she lifted the microphone, her costume and entrance were already a sermon. First, you saw the cross carried before her. That was not decoration. It was declaration. In scripture, the cross always goes first. John 19:17 says Jesus carried His own cross to the place where He died. The cross tells you that someone is dying to himself. Galatians 2:20 says I am crucified with Christ. And Colossians 1:20 says by the blood of the cross God made peace. So the cross had to go first that night to make peace, so that Gods presence could enter the room. The cross was not decoration, it was declaration. Someone dying to self so presence can enter. She wore a white gown covered with gold embroidery, the garment of the priesthood. That gown is the Ark of the Covenant. Exodus 25:11 says you shall overlay the Ark with pure gold, inside and out. And Exodus 25:22 says there I will meet with you, above the Ark. So the Ark was the meeting place between God and man. The colours speak two biblical truths. White for purity and righteousness. Revelation 19:8 says fine linen, bright and pure, was given her to wear. Gold for glory and kingship. 1 Peter 2:9 says we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. She wore that gown to tell us that God does not live inside a wooden box anymore. He lives inside us. 1 Corinthians 6:19 says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. On that night, the Oil Dome was not fans waiting for a concert. The Oil Dome became a tabernacle. The most distinct element was the cap. Its name is Miznefet. Exodus 28:39 says make the turban of fine linen. That cap mirrors the Mitre worn by the High Priest. In those days, ordinary priests wore a small cap called Migbaah. But the High Priest wore the Miznefet, a big white turban. It showed that he was set apart for the work of the altar. Exodus 28:36 says they put a plate of pure gold on that turban on the forehead that said HOLINESS TO THE LORD. It meant his thoughts belonged to God. Leviticus 6:13 says the fire shall ever be burning upon the altar, it shall never go out. Only the priest wearing that mitre was anointed to tend the altar. By wearing the cap, she was declaring her office for the night, not as an artiste, but as a priestess tending the altar. It also speaks of covering and submission to divine authority. 1 Corinthians 11:5 says a woman who prays with her head covered honours the covering of God. Her own cap had no writing on it, and that is deeper. It is because we are now in a new covenant. Hebrews 8:10 says I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. God no longer writes on a gold plate outside. He writes inside our hearts. She did not start on the stage. She started from the back and walked through the congregation. That is how the Ark is moved. Joshua 3:11 says the Ark of the covenant will go ahead of you into the Jordan. The Ark always goes first to make a way for the people. It was an intentional procession like Esther entering the courts in Esther 5:1 to 2. With horns sounding and intercessory prayers lifted, it mirrored 2 Chronicles 5:13 to 14 where as the priests worshipped, the glory of the Lord filled the temple. When the Ark walks through the people, the glory fills the house. So when she walked through you, she was showing you that presence must go first. That is how a hall becomes an altar.
