A clinical psychologist, Dr. Rachel Goldman, told me a routine is the biggest way we can create a sense of control in our life. When forming your own perfect routine, start with one question: What do I need right now? #nfl #ravens #routine #psychology #mindset

Something LeBron told Austin Reaves (and a good general reminder) : If you want to do something, do it. If not, do what you like to do. Just be true to yourself Austin told me to this day it’s the best advice he’s ever heard because at the time it lifted a weight off his shoulders #lakers #lebron #nba #advice #mentalhealth

Why it helps you perform better when you focus on behaviors and actions, instead of how you feel. Ex: Trying to figure out how to be more confident versus focusing on making 3 shots in the first half of your game. #mindset #performance #mentalhealth #motivation #routine

Adam Thielen at the end of the video summarizing it perfectly. Testing out new things last minute in your routine only throws you off and adds another uncontrollable, when routines should give you a sense of control and comfort amidst all the uncontrollable #routine #mindset #stress #growth #vikings

Why are the most challenging conversations the most impactful? How can we get more comfortable having them? Dr. Taya Cohen, an expert in behavior and culture, believes there are four key components to remember when having to give hard feedback or have a tough conversation: • 1. Focus on specific behaviors. She said one mistake people make is being too vague in their feedback. “You’re always late” versus “At this time for this meeting, you were late.” Keying on concrete behaviors helps people understand clearly what needs to change. • 2. Explain the impact of that behavior on the rest of the group. “The reason we’re having this conversation is we want to address this specific issue because it is affecting our team in this way.” • 3. Communicate respect for the person in a way that feels authentic. These conversations are uncomfortable, Cohen said, so people tend to rush through them without taking the time to communicate respect for the person’s work and experience. • 4. Identify the path forward together - What is a process that will address the problem and lead to change? #leadership #relationships #communication #mindset #growth
