Before you donate to any organization or disaster relief effort in the name of Venezuela, please watch this video. If an organization is promoting a single political narrative about what’s happening in my country, I believe you deserve to hear directly from Venezuelans before deciding where your support should go. In this video, I explain why I feel that way, why I’m angry, why millions of Venezuelans are exhausted, and why this humanitarian catastrophe cannot be understood through only one political lens. Please watch until the end if you can. The last few minutes are especially for my beloved friends and family in Venezuela. DONATE to: @caritasdevzla @terremoto.hazlohoy @yummyridesvzla

Todos los caminos me llevan a ti, todos los caminos me llevan a ti, al mismo desierto volver a sentir, todos los caminos me llevan a ti. 🎥 by #Macodiaz and I. #nyc feat @María Fernanda

One of the blessings of leaving Venezuela in 2014 is that many of the people who shaped me as a musician also ended up moving to NYC. There wouldn’t be a producer “Ella” without my friends and collaborators, the ones who became obsessive investigators of our roots, especially Afro-Venezuelan tradition. When I asked @maferbandola who could record these drums the right way, she didn’t hesitate: @danielprim What happened in the studio (recorded by @jmosound) was pure magic: humble, real, and powerful. Here’s a little glimpse into his universe while recording the Afro-Venezuelan percussion that later became the foundation for what @trooko mixed (and protected with integrity) before adding his beat… but that story comes next. 🌊🪘

Genuinly sick of watching the news.
