The following information is all from Google, mostly sourced from the UN Women website: Since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan in August 2021, women's rights have been systematically dismantled, creating what the United Nations has described as the world's most severe women's rights crisis. As of early 2026, over 80 restrictive edicts have been implemented, effectively erasing women from public life and depriving them of fundamental rights to education, employment, and freedom of movement. Girls are banned from education beyond the sixth grade (age 12), and women are prohibited from attending universities. This has resulted in a generation of young women being excluded from education and training. Women are banned from working in most sectors, including the civil service, NGOs, and the UN. The Taliban has also closed beauty salons and restricted women from working in healthcare, leading to a massive workforce gender gap. Women are required to have a mahram (close male relative) when travelling and must adhere to strict dress codes (burqa or chadori). Women are barred from accessing public spaces, including parks, gyms, and public baths. New "morality laws" introduced in 2024 and 2025 further restrict women from speaking in public and prohibit them from being heard outside their homes. Women face increasing barriers to medical care, with reports of forced marriage and a projected 50% increase in maternal mortality by 2026 due to these restrictions. There is a significant rise in anxiety, hopelessness, and suicide among women and girls. Women face increased risks of gender-based violence, and those who protest are threatened, arrested, and tortured. Over 1.7 million Afghans, many of whom are women and children returning from Iran and Pakistan, face increased poverty and risk of exploitation. @✵ℐ𝓈𝒶𝒷ℯ𝓁𝓁𝒶✵ @𝕴𝖘𝖎 🌪️ @eadie🦌 @𝐋𝐢𝐳 ✰ @........ @☆.°🎧𝜗ৎ°.•𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐲•.°𝜗ৎ🎧°.☆ @🐒oph

I’ve contemplated posting this since I finished it nearly an hour ago, but it took me an hour and a half and I was just experimenting so I thought why not? | pictures used in the edit are all from Pinterest | #evagreen #mphfpc #missperegrine #edit #mphfpcedit

Back with my girl 🤭 | this took me so long because I started experimenting mid edit and hated half of it so I had to redo it (-♾️/10, don’t recommend doing that) | spc: @♱ 𝖅𝖔𝖊 ♱ | ac: @eggaudios | #verafarmiga #verafarmigaedit #lorrainewarren #lorrainewarrenedit #theconjuring

Well, it’s safe to say that this was not the next edit I expected to make or post, but I had to say rest in peace to an absolute legend. I love you Catherine and thank you for all the laughs you’ve given me in my lifetime whether it be from my yearly tradition of watching home alone at Christmas time and hearing you scream “KEVIN!” or from watching Schitts Creek and hearing your one liners as Moira Rose, thank you.
