Part 3- In our final True Grit Nugget, the focus is on practical lessons and communication on the fireground. Learn why firefighters should stay low, communicate conditions, take action when they see something that needs to be done, and understand how patience, positioning, and teamwork can make a difference during fireground operations. This training took place at the Colorado State Fire Fighters Association 2026 Fire College in Aurora, Colorado. * The training views expressed in this video are those of the training instructors, and not Fire Spotlight. The actions in this video are inherently dangerous and could result in death; should the viewers choose to adopt any views expressed in this video, he/she is doing so at his/her own risk. Fire Spotlight encourages viewers to review his/her department's Standard Operating Procedures when adopting any new training views.

Part 3 🔥 Back to Basics: Fundamentals Work Everywhere 🔥 Join TrueGrit Training LLC at the CSFFA Fire College live burn demonstration where no matter your department's manpower or equipment, basic firefighting fundamentals work anywhere. In today's training run, we broke down crucial assignments: from the first due truck going interior ahead of the hose line to locate and isolate the fire, to the second due truck softening the building as an active RIT. When entering a smoky structure, remember to stay low, it is where the victims are, how you find stairs safely, and where you move the fastest. Resources dictate tactics, but mastering the basics saves lives. #FirefighterTraining #Fireground #livefiretraining #firetraining #FireService #Operations #FirefighterSkills #FireTraining #firerescue

Stay safer on the fireground by changing the way you move! 🚒 Stop standing up in the worst heat and smoke. Dropping down puts you right where the temperature is cooler and where the victims actually are. But standard crawling pushes your weight forward, meaning if you hit a hole in the floor, you are going right into it. Instead, use the tripod position (one knee down, one foot out). This keeps your weight back, lets your front foot sweep for structural holes, and allows you to cover way more area during a search. Whether you use a Halligan for balance or modify it to carry a water can, this movement keeps you protected. #FirefighterTraining #Fireground #CanAssistedSearch #WaterCan #FireService #InteriorOperations #FirefighterSkills #FireTraining #searchandrescue

Master your fire water can setup and deployment with this quick tactical breakdown. By positioning your pressure gauge away from you and keeping your pull-pin in the exact same spot every time, you build the critical muscle memory needed to fight fire completely blind. More importantly, keeping the can perfectly vertical during deployment ensures the internal air bubble stays at the top, allowing you to force out every drop of water when seconds count. #FirefighterTraining #Fireground #CanAssistedSearch #WaterCan #FireService #InteriorOperations #FirefighterSkills #FireTraining #searchandrescue
