🇻🇳 NEW VIETNAMESE SPOT IN GARBUTT 🇻🇳 A lot of you might already know Vietnamese Hut from the Willows Markets, where they've built up quite a following for their authentic Vietnamese food. Well, they've now opened their very own shop in Garbutt, so I had to stop by and check it out! ☕ Vietnamese Iced Coffee 🍜 Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli Bowl 🥖 Crackling Pork Belly Bánh Mì The coffee was the perfect way to kick things off, the vermicelli bowl was fresh and packed with flavour, and the Crackling Pork Belly Bánh Mì definitely lived up to the hype. Crispy pork, fresh ingredients, and that beautiful crunchy bread... absolutely delicious! It's always great seeing local market businesses grow and take the next step into their own storefront. Another day, another pub… and today’s stop was The Chuck Wagon on Shaw Road in Bohle. A few people had told me to check it out, so I grabbed a coffee and a pie. The coffee was okay, but the pie was the real surprise — really tasty, with lovely chunks of meat and a good bit of cheese inside. It might not be called a cheese pie, but it definitely had enough cheese to make me happy! 🥧☕

Quick lunch at home 🍽️ Sliced rump steak with sautéed mushrooms and red onion, topped with melted cheese and stacked on sourdough with fresh lettuce and tomato. Simple, but so tasty! 😋

A quick breakfast made with love 🍳🍄 Scrambled eggs with fried mushrooms and capsicum, fresh avocado, and buttery sourdough toast. Simple and delicious!

A little throwback to our visit to Cherry Blossom 🌸 We tried such a beautiful spread of Thai food, and it was all so lovely! If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favour and go check them out. Cherry Blossom in Aitkenvale is definitely worth a visit! 🍜✨

Macca’s Nashville range taste test 🔥 The McCrispy actually surprised me, the sauce has a nice kick, the pickles add a bit of tang, and I reckon it could’ve had more slaw. The McSpicy brings a lot more heat, and the wing seasoning builds gradually with a little smokiness and citrus, but it’s not a flavour bomb. Have you tried the range? This morning I stopped at Box Boy Coffee in Townsville for a coffee and a snack ☕️ Small latte and a toasted sandwich with leg ham, cheddar cheese and tomato relish, served with some plain potato chips on the side. I tried Coles’ slow-cooked lamb shanks in red wine sauce, served with polenta. They’re about $16 for two shanks, so I picked up two packs for the family. They were okay and handy for a quick dinner when you haven’t got much prepared, but nothing wow. I probably wouldn’t buy them again. We much preferred the pork knuckle we tried a while back!
