Travel with my best friend and I to the best place on earth to be single. Brazil! Both of my bags are underweight. Let's go! Of course I'm getting my airport McDonald's. Always necessary. Yay! Izzy and I are actually on different flights to Houston. Mine is first, so I'm about to leave her now. But once we get to Houston, then we're on the same plane to Rio. Bye, Izzy. This flight from Chicago to Houston is three hours. Then I have a three hour layover in Houston. Then from Houston to Rio, I think the flight is about 10 hours. Don't quote me on that. Let's go! I already have my Brazil merch on. Tapping the outside of the plane for good luck. I love these brand new United planes. It's 5:20, and I just landed in Houston. The things I would do for a pimple patch right now. This is so painful. And I stopped in, like, three different stores, and I couldn't find pimple patches anywhere at this airport. Yay! Let's go! I'm boarding this flight to Rio now, and I still haven't seen Isabel since Chicago. I guess her flight's deboarding really slow. Only I don't know. But I'm boarding now, and I guess I'll see her in Rio. I found Izzy. It's 9:45, and I just landed in Rio. We're off the plane, and look how long the line is for customs. I still can't even see the front of it. We're still going. And the end isn't even in sight. This is officially the longest customs line I've ever been in. We're finally through customs after the longest line of my life. We called an Uber Black for 158 Brazilian real, which is about $30, and it was only $2 more expensive than an Uber X would have been, $28. Figured we'd send it on the black. And we have, like, an hour ride from this airport to Ipanema. We have quite the luggage situation in this car right now. We fit five bags in this little car. You made it work, though. Our drivers are king. After an hour drive, we're finally in Ipanema. So we just pulled up to this acai shop where they're storing our bags for us. We're using this app called Bounce Storage. Here are all of our bags right here. Isabel and I just checked in for the sambodromo and got our Camaro Cheetah T shirts. I have a really cute carnival outfit I want to wear, so hopefully I can take off the shirt I'm inside, but I don't know if that's possible. Finally, we're having our first meal in Rio. Cheers. Oh, my god, look at that puss. Izzy and I were just walking to pick up our bags, and we came across this super cute bikini store. Look at these bikinis with a Panama printed on them. Okay, guys, Hallelujah. We just got to our apartment, and, oh, my god, this lived up to All my hopes and dreams. Are you kidding me? Look at these floor to ceiling windows. And we have a view of Sugarloaf Mountain, although you can't really see it now because of the sunset. Full kitchen, dining area. This is a 3 bed 4 bath queen bedroom. The smallest bedroom with a full bed and the largest bedroom. Also a queen bed. Of closet space of you. I couldn't be more excited for this week. Thank god we got to Rio in one piece.
