A white pumpkin can hold a story that not everyone can see. 🤍 During Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, we hold space for the families carrying a loss, a memory, and a love that continues. Grief has no timeline, and not every loss is visible to the world. Whatever your story looks like, there is room for it here. Take a breath. Be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to move on to move forward. #whitepumpkins #pail #pregnancyandinfantloss #PregnancyAndInfantLossAwarenessMonth #pregnancyandinfantlossawareness

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. 💜 There is no timeline for grief, and no loss is too small to deserve acknowledgment. Whether your loss happened years ago, early in pregnancy, or in circumstances that made it difficult to share, your experience matters. You don’t have to justify your grief or measure it against anyone else’s. However long you had to love them, that love matters. If you’re carrying this loss, please know you are not alone. There is space for your grief, your healing, and your story. #PregnancyAndInfantLossAwarenessMonth #PregnancyLossAwareness #InfantLossAwareness #PAIL #PAILawareness

Today, we honor Indigenous Peoples’ histories, cultures, resilience, and enduring contributions. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a chance to acknowledge the truth of our shared history, celebrate the communities and traditions that continue to thrive, and listen to voices too often unheard. As we reflect, may we approach one another with curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to learning. Acknowledgment is a starting point, and meaningful change begins with listening, understanding, and respect. #indigenouspeoplesday #community #indigenouspeoples

Who doesn’t love a good opportunity to dress up? As therapists, we're sometimes jealous of all the other professionals who get to dress up for work-day fun. We always center the client, so it doesn’t exactly work for us. We’ll put on our costumes after work. That doesn’t mean we won’t bring the spirit! But no banana costumes for sure!! #halloween #dressup #workcall #therapisthumor #funfriday

Pregnancy and infant loss can change the way you experience time, milestones, relationships, and even your own sense of self. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the many forms reproductive loss can take, including miscarriage, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, TFMR, stillbirth, infant loss, and embryo loss. These experiences are far more common than many people realize. In the U.S., about 1 in 5 birthing people ages 15-49 with no prior births are unable to become pregnant after a year of trying. Approximately 1 in 175 births ends in stillbirth, and in 2024, about 20,000 infants died before their first birthday. But grief cannot be measured in numbers. Whether your loss happened early in pregnancy, after birth, or while trying to become a parent, the love and attachment you experienced were real. And grief does not follow a schedule. There is no single way you are supposed to grieve. At Helping Hands Psychotherapy, we offer support for individuals and families navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, traumatic reproductive experiences, and the complex emotions that can come with trying again. You deserve a space where your experience doesn't need to be explained away, minimized, or rushed. 🤍 #pail #pailawarenessmonth #pregnancyandinfantloss #mentalhealthawareness #grief

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. 💗 Grief doesn’t always announce itself. It can show up in quiet moments, around due dates, during pregnancy announcements, or in the hopes and plans for the future. If you are navigating pregnancy or infant loss, infertility, or reproductive grief, give yourself permission to feel whatever is present. There is no right timeline for healing, and you don’t have to move through it alone. Take a moment to breathe, be gentle with yourself, and honor what this experience means to you. At Helping Hands Psychotherapy, we’re here to provide a safe space to process your grief, make room for difficult emotions, and feel supported along the way. 💗 #pregnancyandinfantlossawareness #pail #pailawareness #pregnancyandinfantloss #mentalhealthawareness

September may be coming to an end, but the conversation around mental health shouldn’t. Stigma can make it harder to ask for help, open up about what we’re experiencing, or reach out to someone who may be struggling. Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply listen without judgment and remind someone that they don’t have to carry it alone. Let’s keep challenging the stigma, making space for honest conversations, and connecting one another with support. #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone

September is NICU Awareness Month, a time to recognize the babies, parents, families, and providers whose stories are connected to the NICU. For many families, the beginning of parenthood may look very different from what they imagined. Instead of bringing their baby home, they may find themselves learning medical terminology, navigating monitors and procedures, waiting for updates, and trying to bond with their baby in an unfamiliar environment. The NICU experience can hold so many emotions at once: love, hope, fear, grief, gratitude, uncertainty, and exhaustion. And for parents, the emotional impact doesn’t necessarily end when their baby leaves the NICU. Some parents may continue to experience anxiety, hypervigilance, grief, guilt, or difficulty trusting that their baby is safe. Medical appointments, developmental milestones, certain sounds or environments, and memories of the NICU may bring pieces of that experience back. NICU Awareness Month is an opportunity not only to celebrate the strength and progress of NICU babies, but also to acknowledge the emotional experiences of the families who love them. Supporting NICU families doesn’t require having the perfect words. Sometimes it simply means listening, checking in, and reminding them that they don’t have to navigate the experience alone. This month, we hold space for every NICU story, the hopeful ones, the complicated ones, and the ones that still feel difficult to talk about. #nicu #nicuawarenessmonth #nicubaby #nicubabies #mentalhealthawareness

“Never Forget” These two single words hold a powerful meaning for those of us who lived through the events of 9/11. We remember where we were. We remember who we searched for. We remember waiting for survivors to be brought in for treatment. We remember them never arriving. For many, the events of 9/11 aren’t over. We carry the trauma in our hearts and in our bodies. Lives were lost and many lives forever changed. Today we think about the children of 9/11. The babies that were in utero. The babies that were in arms. The children who grew up without knowing a parent, and those that have since had to say goodbye to love ones who died from a 9/11 related illness. Today, those children are in high school, college, or starting their own careers. We won’t forget the way communities showed up. The volunteers who provided medical care and counseling to the survivors and first responders. The every day people who helped strangers find their way home. We never forget. #911 #september #neverforget #9112001

Today we join advocates across the globe in raising awareness on World Suicide Prevention Day. This year's theme for the third and final year is "Changing The Narative On Suicide." This theme invites us to change the way we talk about suicide and open conversations with our loved ones that are often stigmatized. By starting these important conversations, we can break down barriers, increase awareness, and foster stronger cultures of understanding and support. Tonight at 8pm we encourage you to join us in placing a candle by the window to show your support for suicide prevention, to remember a lost loved one, and for the survivors of suicide. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay #WSPD #WSPD2026

Sometimes the “sign” we’re looking for is simply a reminder that we don’t have to navigate the hardest moments alone. September is Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month, and while conversations about suicide can feel difficult, talking about it matters. Checking in, asking directly how someone is doing, listening without judgment, and helping someone connect with support can make a meaningful difference. And if you’re the one struggling right now, you don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out. You are deserving of support exactly where you are. Let this be your reminder to check in with yourself, check in with your people, and take conversations about mental health seriously. #suicidepreventionawareness #suicidepreventionawarenessmonth #suicideprevention #mentalhealthawareness #youbelonghere
