#NOLIGHTNOLIGHTWP « “She wants to know where her dad is, Bucky. Why won’t you talk to her?” Sam asked, fighting the urge to punch this super soldier square in the jaw. “I can’t, alright!” Bucky yelled, shuddering at his own words. “I can’t..” “Why not? And you better have a damn good reason.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “Because I took away the only good thing she ever had.” Bucky answered. “And what was that?” “Her.. her mother.” He sighed. “After Annie was initiated into HYDRA, she wouldn’t cooperate with them. She put up these big fights and refused to listen.” Bucky bit his lip. “And they found out it was because she knew her mom was still out there. That she thought Lidiya would come rescue her.” “And what did you do?” “They had to take Lidiya out. So they sent me to do it.” Bucky sat down on the stone bench, his head in his hands. “I remember barging into the apartment, there were.. coloring pages taped to the walls, pictures on the fridge. There were still toys in the living room, and Barbie dvds on the shelf. Like Annie never left.” He closed his eyes. “God, I still remember Lidiya’s face when I stormed in, when I told her I was there to eliminate her. She just stared at me and asked if Annie was safe. If she was being taken care of. She didn’t even care that she was about to die.” Bucky shook his head as Sam sat beside him. “She could’ve taken me out easy, even though I had super serum and a metal arm. But she just let me kill her, no struggle, after I told her Annie was okay. I lied to her.” “You feel guilty about it.” “I can’t look Annie in the face and not see Lidiya. I can’t look at her and not think about the fact I took away her mother, and that I still remember every moment vividly.” » | #marvelfanfic #antalyabarnes #buckybarnes #shouldersbigthief

#ANGELWP « “She’s everything I am and everything I am not. How do you lose someone that’s an extension of yourself?” Vera asked in the open space. FRIDAY stood behind her in the doorway, not even computing a sufficient answer. Because there was none. “It’s like a phantom pain. I still feel the memories, but they’re someone else’s.” “Perhaps you just wish to feel that peace again.” FRIDAY offered. Vera scoffed. “And what is peace?” » | #marvelfanfic #veraangelova #wandamaximoff #dontthinkofher

#NOLIGHTNOLIGHTWP « Sam stared at her for a moment, looking at how her nose scrunched just like Bucky’s. “He’s still your dad, kid.” “Then why hasn’t he acted like it?” Annie looked him in the eyes now. “We’ve both had rough lives, I get it. But he doesn’t get to go hide away and wallow in some sick and twisted self pity.” She scoffed. “The only time I knew he cared about me was when we were on the run in Romania. When we had a little apartment together and would go to the markets to get the fruit he knew I liked.” “He’s never stopped caring for you, Annie. He just doesn’t know how to be personal.” Sam explained, giving Bucky a tad too much credit. “I was a scared kid who had been trained to be an assassin. I’ve been poked and prodded and abused by countless people.” Antalya said. “He didn’t have to do what normal fathers do. He could have just been there. We could’ve sat in silence together and it would’ve been enough.” The girl shook her head, stuffing her cold hands in her scratchy coat pockets. “Besides, I took care of myself the seven years he was gone anyway. No matter how much therapy he attends or however many names he crosses off in that stupid book of amends is ever gonna change that. You can’t change it either.” Sam’s chest deflated as he nodded. “He’s proud of how you turned out. He’s just too in his own head to say it himself.” “You’re the only one who gets to be proud. You and Steve were the ones who took care of me those two years on the run. You took care of me when he was in Wakanda. Steve watched over me during the Blip.” She continued. “He doesn’t get to claim that time. Not now.” » | #marvelfanfic #antalyabarnes #buckybarnes #comingdownphoebebridgers

#ANGELWP « “It’s like she’s enshrined in this pretend world Wanda has created. Like she made it just for her.” Darcy said, watching back the clips of the broadcast titled ‘WandaVera!’. “Isn’t Vera Angelova only comatose, though?” Jimmy asked. “She’s not officially dead.” Monica shrugged. “She was declared brain dead. No brain function for the past month. Machines are keeping her alive technically.” “Vegetable.” Darcy chimed back in. “But in the show, it’s like she never missed a beat. Like she’d never left Wanda’s side.” She sighed. “I know this show was made by Wanda, but it’s all about Vera. Every scene is almost curated to her. Like she’s the piece that always fit in that puzzle.” “You sound like you’re in awe.” Monica raised an eyebrow. “Who wouldn’t be? I know what Wanda is doing is horrible, but she’s doing it for the person she loves the most. She’s doing it so they can have the life together Wanda thinks they deserve. Everything she does is for Vera. No one else.” On the screen, Wanda smiled sweetly at her wife, like she had hung the moon in the sky. Vera responded, leaning in to kiss her delicately as the background crowd ‘aww’ed. Vera was the moon. » | #marvelfanfic #veraangelova #wandamaximoff #deadwifemontage

#FALSEGODWP « As she walked out of the beach house, her eyes scanned around for any sign of her brother. He had to have been notified of her abduction. Surely he would be there. Sonny was her best friend, her confidant and brother. Even though they were almost two years apart, they were attached to the hip growing up. And Lizzie was right. Sonny was waiting for her at the entrance of the house. He had been following the police in their investigation to find her. Sonny knew after five missed calls and a little girl waiting to get picked up from her uncle’s, there was something wrong. Lizzy saw him and his floppy sandy hair and collapsed into his frame. “Sonny,” She choked out. “Shh, shh. I’m here. You’re safe, Lizzie.” He assured her as Nick placed a wool blanket around their shoulders. “I’m not going anywhere.” Sonny whispered into her sweaty wet hair, rubbing up and down her back in soothing circles. It made Liz think of the time she broke her arm falling off the swing sets at school. Her and Sonny both attended the same school and were both on the playground. The boy heard a high-pitched “Sonny!” from across the yard. He dropped the basketball he was holding and ran. He was there before any of the teachers realized. His fifth grade body scooped her up and brought her to the nurse’s office. He didn’t leave her side once. Liz recalled their mom showing them a photo of the two in the office, snuggled together on the cot when she came to pick them up. Because it has always been like that. Sonny had always been there. » | #lawandordersvufanfic #elizabethcarisi #dominiccarisi #yourestilltheonecover
