Insulating the subfloor for our tiny home. We will skirt the sides in addition to mesh wire to keep the critters out. This is where our first home on our 5 acre property will be! It is going to be a fully off grid 16x16 structure with loft area. This is almost double the size of the tiny house we used to live in! We are ready to be on solid ground and have a more permanent solution while we turn this land into our future farm 🚜 stay tuned for more on this project! YouTube link in bio on insta! We will upload more detailed videos of this build and more 🌱 . . . #humblebeefarmstead #homestead #homesteading #homesteaders #offgrid #offthegrid #offgridtinyhouse #offgridhomestead #swvahomestead #swvahomesteaders #swvafarmstead #virginiahomestead #virginiahomesteaders #homesteadingcouple #coupleswhohomestead #cabinbuilding #tinyhouse #tinyhousebuild #tinyhome #tinyhomebuild #16x16cabin #16x16tinyhouse #garden #farmstead #minifarm

Once upon a time in Arizona.... we built this tiny a-frame cabin. We had a few short term rentals in AZ and we started to build this one when the rules for rentals was changed! We never got to use this cabin, it's still on a 1 acre property just outside the #grandcanyon - we might be looking to sell this in the future! Would you guys possibly want plans for this or something like this? . . . #aframe #tinyhouse #tinyhome #tinycabin #aframecabin #arizona #northernarizona #off-grid #offgrid #offgridliving #offgridlife #Virginia #swva #homestead #homesteading #homesteaders #cabinbuild #tinycabinbuild #humblebeefarmstead #swvahomestead #garden #gardening #farmstead #tinyaframe #diyaframe #airbnb

This was our first homestead in Northern Arizona! We bought this land in the winter of 2018 and moved there without any power, water, etc. Over 5 years we developed this property to be our home. We loved our little slice of heaven but Northern AZ was NOT homesteader friendly like we thought when we bought this off grid land. We will always cherish the memories and lessons we learned here and will apply it all to our new property in Virginia ❤️ . . . #tinyhouse #tinyhome #diytinyhouse #northernarizona #Virginia #swva #swvahomestead #homestead #homesteading #homesteaders #startingover #offgrid #offgridhomestead #virginiafarmstead #virginiahomestead #homesteadinginvirginia #diyhomestead #thow #5acrehomestead #garden #gardening #offgridcouple #aztova #Arizona #grandcanyon #acreage #rawland

This was our first home that we built with our own hands. We built this tiny home paycheck to paycheck in the forest service of northern Arizona! When we first moved into this tiny home we only used the free camping in the forest service and moved every 2 weeks. Our home wasn't even close to finished when we moved into it (there literally wasn't a roof) but we made it work, and the home evolved to this point after we found our land in Arizona where she still sits but now will be a part of someone else's journey. We will always cherish this home and the land it sits on. We are very excited to start building our new tiny home here in Virginia! Our new tiny home will be 16x16 with loft area which will be close to double the size of our first home. We've been working on this land for about 6 months now! It's incredible how much has changed since we arrived to this densely treed 5 acre lot in May. We bought this land sight unseen and moved forward on pure faith alone that this would be right for us. I think we severely underestimated the amount of work clearing and processing these trees would be but hopefully we can use this lumber in the future for all our crazy projects! . . . . #humblebeefarmstead #offgrid #offgridbuild #offgridbuilding #offgridproperty #offthegrid #tinyhouse #tinyhome #homestead #homesteading #homesteaders #coupleswhobuildtogether #homesteadingcouple #rawland #farmstead #farm #minifarm #garden #gardening #swvahomestead #swvahomesteaders #swvafarmstead #smallscalefarming #Virginia #swva #livingoffgrid #cabin #cabinbuild #cabinbuilding

Once upon a time in Arizona we built this outdoor bath house so you could see the milky way while you shower 🚿 we used local lumber milled near where we lived in Northern AZ. Still miss my instant hot water heater 😩 when we built our tiny house (168sq ft) we didn't want to sacrifice the room for a bathroom. Starting over in Virginia we have a indoor bathroom inside our Travel trailer but I think we might build another bath house at some point! There's just something about showering outdoors that nurtures your soul ✨️ . . . . #bathhouse #outdoorbathhouse #diybathhouse #offgridbathhouse #northernarizona #grandcanyon #homesteading #homesteaders #homestead #homesteadingcouple #Virginiahomestead #5acrehomestead #offgrid #offthegrid #livingoffgrid #humblebeefarmstead #farmstead #swvahomestead #swvahomesteaders #garden #minifarm #newrivervalley #diybuild #diybuilding #virginia #homesteadinginvirginia #Virginiamountains #usewhatyouhave #sustainablebuilding

We are Kalem and Sunny and we are building our dream home and farm on 5 raw acres in VA 😊 . . What if we stopped wishing and started doing?? That's not to say that what you're working towards won't come without challenges and you might need to redirect or even start from scratch like we did. Don't be afraid to start over ✨️ you're exactly where you need to be! All your hard work is not in vain because you gained *experience*. You can't put a price on lessons learned but you have to be willing to mess up to be able to learn how to do things right! You can pray for a home and farm but if you're not willing to put in the effort to learn how to do it yourself you may look at your raw land and be frustrated you can't use it. You can do hard things! Some would have looked at the property we bought and thought "oh that's too much work" we looked at it and decided this is what we wanted to pour our lives into - to trade our time creating a home and getting closer to self sufficiency. You don't need much when you want less! . . . #tinyhouse #tinyhome #tinyhomebuild #tinyhousebuild #diytinyhouse #diytinyhome #diytinybuild #homestead #homesteading #homesteaders #swvahomestead #virginiahomestead #swvahomesteaders #virginiahomesteaders #swvaminifarm #virginiaisforlovers #offgrid #offgridtinyhouse #offgridtinyhome #buildingoffgrid #homesteadingcouple #coupleswhohomestead #buildingatinyhome #home #farmstead #humblebeefarmstead
