🎭💙 Behind every performance, there’s a person with a story you may never see. October is POTS Awareness Month, and something many people in my theater community may not know is that I live with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). Theater is one of my greatest passions. Whether I’m performing, directing, writing, or working behind the scenes, it’s a huge part of who I am. ❤️ But living with a chronic condition can mean dealing with things people don’t always see or understand. POTS can affect the body’s ability to regulate heart rate and blood flow, causing symptoms like dizziness, a racing heart, fatigue, and difficulty tolerating prolonged standing. And no, it’s not simply being out of shape or getting dizzy sometimes. Sometimes, pursuing your dreams means learning how to navigate challenges other people may never see. It means listening to your body, making adjustments, and giving yourself grace on the hard days while still making room for the things you love. I’m sharing this because awareness matters. You never know what someone is managing behind the scenes, even when they’re smiling, creating, and doing what they love. 💙 I am more than my diagnosis, but my diagnosis is part of my story. I’m still a theater girl, a playwright, a director, and a dreamer. POTS doesn’t erase any of that.
