Throughout his career, Do Ho Suh has created art that challenges our perception of the spaces we live in. Made of translucent fabric, "Jagyeong Hall, Gyeongbok Palace" is an actual-size re-creation of a section of the Cheongyeonru, a pavilion of the Jagyeongjeon Palace where the Joseon dynasty Dowager Queen Shinjeong lived. As we count down to our April 19 grand opening of the David Geffen Galleries, we're counting down 50 works that will be on view. Check back next week for another! #museumtok #losangeles #dohosuh

Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most reproduced images of the Christian world. This rendition ↑ by Antonio de Torres depicts the Virgin surrounded by four vignettes, culminating in the miracle that imprinted her image on Indigenous commoner Juan Diego’s cloak. DYK—when demand increased for reputable copies of the Virgin’s titular image, Mexican artist Juan Correa produced a waxed-paper template after the original image so painters could accurately reproduce it. This accounts for the similar dimensions of some copies, despite variations of style and details. Currently on view in our David Geffen Galleries | learn more at the 🔗 in bio #museumtok #lacma
