This is a reminder that it’s ok to notice these behaviors and that it does get better. It’s just a new routine and a new schedule. They’ll get used to it! Let them have that time to unwind and release where they feel safest 💫

The planned magical moments are so special, but I’d argue that the ordinary, daily moments are even more special. These are the times you’ll look back on and want more of…the slow mornings, the little conversations, the toys all over the floor, the same routines you do over and over again. So this is just a reminder to appreciate the mundane as much as the milestones. One day, these ordinary days will be the ones you miss the most. 🤍

How do you divide chores in your families?

Sound tapping mats are one of those simple tools I come back to again and again. Kids tap out each sound as they say it, which helps them slow down, hear the individual sounds, and then work on blending them back together. I used these all the time in my preschool and kindergarten classrooms and now I love that it feels like play while working on such an important early reading skill.
