Allaah is above the throne #salafi #salaf #athari #salafiyyah #islamic_video

The meaning of the ‘limit/hadd’ of Allāh: Throughout history there have been many opinions about where Allāh exactly is. There are three main positions: The jahmi position: Allāh is in all places The Athari position: Allāh is above all of creation, high up above the throne. The Mu’tazili/Ash’ari position: Allāh has absolutely no place. He is neither inside nor outside of creation. The jahmi position says that Allāh has no limit, He infinitely/unlimitedly stretches absolutely everywhere. Which is why He is in all places, shops, houses, everywhere. The Athari position says Allāh has a limit/end. He is above the throne, above all of creation. But He Himself has an end/limit and does not enter creation- He is seperate from creation. Unlike the jahmis who say He has no limit/end and unlimitedly ‘stretches’ everywhere. Audhubillāh. The Mu’tazilis and Ash’aris believe Allāh has no limit either, as He is not in any place or space whatsoever. Many imāms of the Salaf affirmed a limit for Allāh. However, we also believe in Allāh “without a limit”. Because we dont know/comprehend His limit. Not because there actually is no limit. Similiarly we believe in Allāh without a howness or modality, because we cant explain or comprehend His howness or modality. Not because they literally dont exist at all. Note: the word ‘limit’ is often understood to be a weakness. Like a limit in power. This is not what limit means here. Allāh can do all things. The word ‘end’ here also does not mean that Allāh is not eternal, and will end. Allāh is eternal and has and will always exist.
