Back to school on F/V Sea Sisters 📚 Poppy has learned a lot this summer on the back of lobster boats! We hope everyone learned a little something cool about lobstering from the coolest lobsterman on Casco Bay! 🦞

Did you know that egg bearing female lobsters are protected by the Maine lobster fishery? Every one that’s found in a trap gets a v-notch added to her tail so the next fishermen who catches her knows she is a mom and has to throw her back to protect the broad stock. It’s one of the many sustainability practices that Maine lobstermen do to ensure the future of the fishery. This year, Poppy is participating in the Maine Lobstermen@ Billion Egg Challenge! The goal is to reach 1 billion little baby lobster protected by reporting all your v-notches. Poppy’s got nearly 10 momma lobsters so far which is thousands of baby lobsters protected!

New characters unlocked🧜‍♀️ It’s not called F/V Sea Sisters for nothing! Meet Banks and Hadley, Poppy’s younger sisters, who tagged along to haul traps on a stunning summer evening on Casco Bay. It really is a family affair around here!

Please stop rushing us through lobster season 🙉

Reclaiming real, wild-caught lobster in the grocery store 🦞 Our mini lobster cakes are available at Costcos in the Northeast for a bit longer so get ‘em while you can!

She’s a keepah! 🦞 Poppy is back on Casco Bay pulling up the 10 traps she set last week. And just wait til you see trap 5 👀

It’s not just an aesthetic to us. It’s where all of our passion and knowledge for lobster and seafood comes from. It’s where we grew up, where we live, and it’s what we love. You may know Luke’s because of our restaurant outside of Pike Place Market in Seattle or because you find us @Whole Foods Market but our roots and family (and headquarters!) are here in Maine. And we work everyday to try to bring a little slice of all of this to you all 🦞

Will trap 5 be the best?! Stay tuned 👀
