I’ve been watching @Lauren Williams for a little while now and today I came across her campaign, The Jude Standard, and so much of our experience with Teddy came flooding back. 🤍 I’ll never know whether things could have been different for Teddy, but I do know that some of our concerns weren’t looked at together, and there were issues with our care. At the time, I didn’t push for answers because I knew how poorly Teddy’s lungs had developed and how unlikely he was to survive being born so early. But looking back, I can’t help but wonder whether earlier intervention could have given us more options, more time, or even protected my own health. Lauren is fighting for change in Jude’s memory, and I really believe in what she’s trying to achieve. No one is saying every loss can be prevented, but every concern deserves to be listened to, investigated and considered as part of the bigger picture. I’m sharing Teddy’s story to help support The Jude Standard and the change Lauren is working so hard for. Baby Loss Awareness Week 🩷🩵 This beautiful display was created by a family in memory of their little boy Finley, at one of our local garden centres. I got to add Teddy’s name to it alongside so many other precious babies. 🤍 “The shoes they never got to fill, the steps they should have taken.” 💔 It’s hard not to think about all the things our babies should have been here for, the milestones they should have reached and the memories we should have made with them. I wish none of us knew what it felt like to lose a baby, but I’m so glad there are spaces like this where their names can be seen and remembered.
