My sister @Alyssa Davis sent me a TikTok at the end of August about someone who had completed 40 miles for the month, and asked if I wanted to do a 40 mile challenge in September, and I remember thinking, “There’s no way I can do that!” 😂 I had been walking/running off and on since January, but 40 miles just seemed impossible. But I told myself I can do it! So on September 1st, I started my 40 mile challenge. I took the weekends off, but Monday–Friday I made sure to get in 1–2 miles a day so I could reach my goal. A week or two into the challenge, I asked my sister if she wanted to do a 5K. Once we agreed to do it, we knew we had to keep working hard! I hadn’t done a 5K in years, and even when I was younger, I hated running and could never run a full mile without stopping. So my goal for the 5K was to run the first mile, then walk/run the rest. But somehow, we ended up running most of it! I’m so proud of us!!I definitely felt like I was barely going to make it to the finish line, but I did it! I finished the last week of September strong and hit my 40 miles a day early! ✅ Now I’m ready to do it all over again with another 40 miles in October! If you’re on the fence about waiting to find out the gender of your baby at birth maybe this will help you! All 3 of my pregnancies we waited until birth to find out the gender and let me tell you there’s just something special about waiting. Hearing the baby cry and Caleb tell me if it’s a boy or girl is just such a special and memorable moment that I won’t ever forget! And I think our families enjoyed it to. They would wait patiently in the waiting room for Caleb to come in with the onesie with the babies name on it (except with Walker because no one was allowed to be at the hospital but we FaceTimed and sent a video to our family and friends). But this last pregnancy was pretty exciting because we finally welcomed a baby girl to our family and I loved everyone’s reactions! With each pregnancy I only prayed for a healthy baby. I wasn’t worried if it was a boy or girl but I just wanted my babies to be happy and healthy!
