✈️💌 PAPER WORLD ORLANDO RECAP! 💌✈️ What an amazing weekend at Paper World Stationery Expo Orlando! 🥹💖 We met SO many stationery and sticker lovers, and one of my favorite parts was seeing familiar faces I’ve met at past stationery events in California, Seattle, Chicago, and New York—all the way in Florida!! 😭💕 And of course, I loved meeting so many new faces too! It made me especially happy hearing from people who came specifically to my booth looking for things they had seen online. 🥹 I even sold out of several items!! Knowing my silly little drawings traveled all the way to Florida and were so warmly welcomed by the stationery community there means more to me than I can say. 💖 We even squeezed in a little Orlando exploring with Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk! No actual theme parks this time because after traveling + vending, we absolutely did NOT have the energy for that. 🤣 But we ate plenty of delicious food, which is obviously the important part. 😌🍴 One thing I’ve really grown to love about traveling for events is that it gives us an excuse to turn these work trips into tiny vacations together too. 🥰 Getting to share my art with people in new cities AND make memories along the way has become such a special part of this little business journey. 💖✨ LADS STAMP RALLY RECAP ✨💖 We are still blown away by how much love our very first Love and Deepspace Stamp Rally received at @Anime Magic! 2026!! 🥹🎮💕 I teamed up with my talented artist friends @candy_fluffs, @sweetoothghost, and @lovemylien to create a special LADS claw machine shaker keychain as our rally prize — and you guys absolutely exceeded everything we expected. 😭💖 Since this was our first time organizing a stamp rally at an anime convention, we came prepared with a very limited batch of just 20 shaker keychains because we honestly had NO idea how it would go... and the excitement from the LADS community completely blew us away! One of my favorite parts of the entire weekend was getting to meet so many fellow LADS fans and geek out together about the game, our favorite love interests, and everything in between. 😂💕 Every interaction made this rally so much fun for us too! And because we felt terrible about anyone completing the rally after all the shakers had been claimed, we put together little claw machine consolation prize bags filled with stickers and mini art prints so our remaining participants could still leave with something cute. 🥹🎁 Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who participated, visited our booths, showed us your completed stamp cards, geeked out with us, and supported our little group of small artists. 💗 We loved seeing you have fun with something we created together. Making a little something sweet for this weekend 🍒💖✨ After a crazy couple of weeks traveling in New York, it feels SO nice to slow down, sit with my beads again, and make things with my hands. 🥹 I made a small batch of these lychee-inspired phone charms for this weekend’s Kawaii Stationery Swap Meet/Pop-Up & Trinket Fest, and I’m absolutely in love with all the juicy pinks, reds, greens, pearls, and tiny lychee beads! ✨ Lychee is also such a nostalgic fruit for me. Growing up, eating lychee always meant sitting with family while someone peeled them for me and handed me the sweet little fruit inside. 🥹💕 It’s such a simple thing, but looking back, I realize those tiny acts of service were their own quiet way of saying I love you, something that isn't said very often in Asian households. ✨ My first Stationery Fest by @yoseka.stationery ✨ What an unforgettable three days. 🥹💕 Even though I've done a handful of stationery events now, I still feel so new to this community. Being surrounded by so many incredibly talented artists and vendors was both humbling and inspiring. Seeing everyone's beautiful work reminded me how much I still want to grow as an artist, and it motivated me to keep creating and becoming the kind of artist I hope to be. 🥹 One of my favorite parts was finally meeting artists whose work I've admired for a long time, tabling next to wonderful friends, meeting longtime supporters, and making so many new artist friends along the way. ✨Belated Paper World Stationery Expo recap!✨ Okay sooo… I totally forgot to post a recap because immediately after the expo, I went into full vacation mode with my sister + nieces, and then jumped straight into Kawaii Kon after that 😭✈️💖 My brain has basically just been sunshine, snacks, stationery, and chaos lately LOL. But truly, Paper World Stationery Expo was SUCH a fun experience 🥹💖 Thank you to @paperworldexpo for having me—it was well organized and the event was full of so many passionate and talented people. I got to catch up with familiar vendor friends, meet so many talented artists and stationery vendors, and chat with lots of fellow stationery lovers throughout the event! (Also got some great book recommendations from customers IYKYK 😍📚) One of my favorite parts though? Having my sister and nieces help me vend at the booth 🥹 My little nieces (and my sister!) were SO helpful. They helped restock products, talked with customers, allowed me to take breaks, made sure I was hydrated and fed, and kept me company all day long. I loved getting to spend that time with them, and hearing them say they had so much fun made my heart so happy 😭💖 Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by to support my art, shop cute things, and chat with me! Chicago Stationery Fest, year two 🥹💖 One of the most special parts of the weekend was meeting repeat customers who came by to say hi and share stories about how they’ve been using my stickers or how my designs brought joy to them or their loved ones. Moments like that truly mean the world to me. I wish I had taken more footage, but I was too busy admiring everyone's amazing work and geeking out about random stuff together 🤣 I loved chatting with everyone! The stationery community continues to amaze me with how positive, kind, and wholesome everyone is. I also got to meet artists and stationery shops I’ve admired for a long time and spend time hanging out with friends too. Huge shout out to Tyler and Eric of Paper & Pencil and their amazing team of staff and volunteers for organizing such a wonderful event. Seeing so many creative vendors in one place gave me so much inspiration and motivation — I even sketched out some new sticker ideas while I was there ✨ Thank you to everyone who stopped by to support, chat, or even just say hello. Entering my era of saying yes only to the projects that feel meaningful to my heart. 💖 I’m so proud — and incredibly grateful — to share that I illustrated the front cover for the Field Museum’s Chicago’s Chinatown: Past, Present & Future community guide. 🏮✨ Projects like this remind me why I became an artist in the first place. This year, I finally admitted to myself that custom art and random commissions don’t spark joy for me the way creating from the heart does. I want my work to feel connected — to my culture, my childhood memories, the food I grew up with, the stories that shaped me. Illustrating Shapes at Dim Sum with Meh Yun and working on this Chinatown zine with the Field Museum were two of the most meaningful projects I’ve ever been trusted with. They allowed me to honor my heritage, celebrate community, and create something I wish younger-me could’ve seen in the world. Lately, my posts have looked a little different. I know many of you follow me for cute art, food-inspired designs, and small business updates. but behind all of that is still a person… a granddaughter, a daughter, a human trying to do her best. This month has been really hard. My grandma, who helped raise me, who’s always supported my art, has been in declining health. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster of fear, guilt, hope, and love. Moments like this remind me why I started creating in the first place: to hold onto memories, to celebrate family, and to find comfort through art. ✨ SJMade ILLO Mart Recap✨ First vending trip ever to California! On our first day, we explored Japantown (so cute!) and visited the @sjmade store before heading over to South Hall to set up for ILLO Mart. I loved how my table came together, and my vendor neighbors were the sweetest 💖 Being surrounded by so many insanely talented artists was both humbling and inspiring! I even got to meet some of my longtime faves like @Ari aka Ghostiekid @Menmin Made @Cyndercake @goyangii @Sunnie Creative @Nicole 🌱 🔜 Anime Expo AA K56 @Huyen Dinh and more 🥹💖 My heart was so full! The weekend itself had its ups and downs—there were busy highs and slow moments that made me doubt myself. But every kind word, smile, and interaction from customers reminded me why I do this and gave me so much encouragement. 💕 This trip taught me so much (along with my NYC show earlier this month!) and I hope travel shows will keep getting easier from here. People love to play Guess That Asian™ with me 🙃 I’m Chinese Filipino American, but I’ve been called Chinese, Korean, Japanese—basically everything except what I actually am. And the best part? Some people even get annoyed when I don’t match the race they want me to be. Like…sorry I didn’t cast myself correctly for your expectations? 🥹✨ And sometimes that ignorance spills into my business. Do you think it matters if I tell them “Yes, I draw all my art. Yes, I hand-assemble all my accessories. Yes, every bead and charm is chosen with intention”? Probably not. Because some people just want to be racist and cheap. Case in point: someone once told their kid they could make my stuff themselves and that they’d “only pay $0.35” for it. Thirty-five cents. 🫠 Honestly, I would LOVE to see them try. Go ahead—hunt down all the beads, charms, hooks, tools, spend hours piecing it all together to look cohesive and cute—and then tell me it’s worth pocket change. My art is for people who appreciate the work, joy, and craft behind it. Not for people who think handmade = free labor. So yes—my products are a luxury, not a clearance bin. ✨Anime Magic 2025 Recap✨ One thing I’ve learned from doing events these past few years is the importance of perspective. Every event is different—what worked well in the past might not perform the same the next time around. Sales can be affected by so many factors: the economy (ugh, I hate this one but it’s real), shopper fatigue, marketing, multiple events happening at once, or maybe my products just don’t click as much with shoppers that weekend. Who knows? It can be anything and everything. At the end of the day, it’s a reminder to keep pivoting and improving. Even though the numbers showed a dip compared to previous years, it was still worthwhile for us and I’d happily apply again in the future 💖 These are all learning opportunities—part of riding the wave of being a small artist and business owner. And honestly? What made Anime Magic so special this year wasn’t just the sales—it was the fun and wholesome interactions with friends, vendors, and customers. 🥹💖 From friends dropping off pastries, fruit, and water, to my hubby surprising me with Jollibee takeout (!!), to amazing people stopping by to shop, chat, or even bring me Love and Deepspace gifts (😭😭😭). You all made me feel so seen and loved. Special shoutout to @silenteyes149, @candy_fluffs, @blgalloway, @cobblerlanedesigns and everyone else (tag me if I missed you!) who gave me thoughtful gifts, including standing in line for 2+ hours to bring me signed Thames Malerose goodies 😭😭😭💖 I’m so grateful to be part of this community, and I truly love being an artist at anime conventions. Mini recap from this weekend at Anime 414! This is my 2nd year in Milwaukee at Anime 414 and it was a lot of fun! I regret not taking more photo/video 😅 It's a new convention and the first year was last year in 2024—this year was much better since we commuted from home (first year my mom visited and we got hotel there, so profits were less due to expenses)! Plus the VA lineup and various panels were impressive with casts from popular animes like Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Death Note, Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, etc and I think a lot of people returned from last year/brought friends/more people learned about it! ☺️ I met some familiar vendor friends and made some new ones (ahh I wish I took more photos to tag them and their amazing work), and even met some old customers from last year and some from Chicago too! I debuted some of my new products and I'm so happy they were well received ❤️ stay tuned for August 17 Shop update!
