This was my first ever official race, the first time I’ve ever ran or travelled this distance on my own two feet. And it was absolutely brutal. Backyard ultra by @yudi.ram : 5KM on the hour, every hour, for 12 hours. We didn’t make it to the end — but damn, we emptied the tank. @Lee and I have never hit 10KM in a day. We’ve never hit 30KM in a week. And we went out there and tripled our daily PR… landing on 35KM in backyard format — which hits way harder than a straight run. @Wade Gounden 🦇 was on some mentor-level timing out there, keeping us from blowing up. If he didn’t guide the pacing and drop banger motivation mid-run, we probably would’ve folded at 20KM. Huge shoutout to Yudi for setting this whole thing up. Mad experience. Learned a lot. Hurt a lot. Grew a lot. We’ll be back for another round — and next time, we’re going further.
