But one thing I’ve learned in life is that hard work, discipline, consistency, and GOD are the keys to success. Nothing worth having comes easy. If it did, everyone would be doing it. Stop looking for shortcuts and start investing in yourself, your education, and your future. You can’t cheat your way through life and expect to get far. Eventually, the work you avoided will catch up to you. Trust God, put in the WORK, and stop expecting success to come without sacrifice. Not me becoming an RN and realizing all the health risks I was putting myself at risk for lol 😭😂 The more I learned about obesity and its connection to chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, the more I realized I needed to make some changes, especially with my family history. This journey was never just about looking better. It was about feeling better, becoming healthier, and being here for my babies for as long as God allows. 86 questions later….. I OFFICIALLY PASSED MY NCLEX! 🩺🤍✨ But this moment means so much more to me than just becoming a Registered Nurse. Years ago, during my last semester of ultrasound school, I experienced one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life. I lost my only brother. At a time when I should have been celebrating one of my biggest accomplishments, I was learning how to navigate life without someone I never imagined living without. That kind of loss changes you forever. But somewhere through the grief, I discovered a strength in myself that I didn’t even know existed. I learned that even when life breaks your heart, you can still find the courage to keep going. And most importantly, I learned that I am capable of doing anything I truly put my mind to. Losing my brother also taught me one of life’s greatest lessons: Life is short. So incredibly short. We spend so much time waiting for the perfect moment. Waiting until the kids are older, until we have more money, until life slows down, until we feel ready. But the truth is, tomorrow is never promised. So why not start now? That dream you’ve been thinking about for years? Start it. That career you’ve always wanted? Go after it. That little voice telling you there’s more out there for you? Listen to it. You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to be brave enough to begin. Going back to school for nursing wasn’t always easy. There were long nights, tears, sacrifices, moments of doubt, and plenty of times I questioned how I was going to get through it all. But I kept showing up. I kept believing. I kept reminding myself of the woman who had already survived one of the hardest chapters of her life. And here I am. A Registered Nurse. 🥹 I am so grateful to God for carrying me through every season of my life, for the strength I didn’t know I had, and for the people who never stopped believing in me. And to my brother, I wish you were here to see this chapter. I carry you with me in everything I do. 🤍🕊️ If my journey inspires even one person to stop putting their dreams on hold, then sharing my story is worth it. Please don’t wait for life to be perfect to start living the life you’ve been dreaming of. Time will pass anyway. You might as well spend it becoming the person you’ve always wanted to be. Today, I’m not just celebrating passing an exam. I’m celebrating resilience, faith, growth, and the beautiful reminder that even after life’s greatest heartbreaks, we can still create something beautiful. From RDMS to RN.
