From Grambots and Glassesbots to Robots and SkoBots, the 2026 AISES National Conference was a beautiful weaving of culture, community, and all things STEM! 🪶✨ Since time immemorial, our ancestors have been weaving innovation into the fabric of our communities. And if this year's gathering reminded us of anything, it's that innovation has never been something we do alone. It grows through relationships, shared knowledge, and the generations who came before us and those who will follow. We hope you left with more than what you came with: new connections, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of what's possible when we come together. Until next year, AISES Family ❤️ Keep weaving, keep innovating, and keep making a difference wherever you call home. The work we started here continues through all of us 🧵 #nativetiktok #indigenoustiktok #stemtok #nativesinstem #Indigenous

From the high desert of Crownpoint to Nihi Lab, she is transforming research in Indigenous communities. Dr. Cherie De Vore, of the Navajo Nation, is redefining what it means to lead with purpose, culture, and community. She reminds us that we are born scientists. Born engineers. And when we center our people, our lands, and our knowledge—impact follows. Know someone creating change like Dr. De Vore? Someone turning research into advocacy, and lifting others along the way? ✨ Nominate them for the AISES Professional Awards and help us celebrate the leaders shaping our future at te link in our bio. #NativesinSTEM #IndigenousExcellence #STEMLeadership #WomeninSTEM #RepresentationMatters

From breath to breath, generation to generation. Lynda Brown and her daughter Papatsie are traditional Inuit throat singers who carry their tradition forward through sound, memory, and love. Once banned by colonial missionaries and silenced through residential schools, throat singing endures today as a powerful expression of resilience, joy, and survival. Performed face to face, it is a playful rhythmic exchange that echoes the wind, water, and animals, grounding singers in the natural world and in one another. For Lynda, learning as an adult to throat sing was an act of reclamation and promise to pass down her tradition. For Papatsie, it has been a lifelong lesson in resilience, leadership, and listening. Raised to lead, she now reflects on the importance of also learning how to follow, honoring balance, respect, and shared power. Last year, Lynda and Papatsie shared this living tradition at the AISES in Canada National Gathering, reminding us that Indigenous futures are built by carrying culture forward while making space for growth. Today, Indigenous peoples continue to illuminate the future by reclaiming tradition and pursuing knowledge. Our traditions have always taught us to gather knowledge to survive, thrive, and uplift our communities. ✨ Join us at this year’s AISES in Canada National Gathering as we celebrate culture, leadership, and the next generation of Indigenous innovators. This year’s theme: Illuminating Indigenous Futures. Come learn. Come lead. Come follow those who light the way. #FirstNations #Canada #ThroatSinging #Inuit #TurtleIsland

Across Canada, Indigenous students and professionals enter academia not to leave culture behind, but to carry it forward—gathering knowledge, achieving goals, and sharing their brilliance so others may follow. Each journey strengthens the whole, reminding us that learning is not an individual pursuit, but a collective responsibility rooted in love for our communities. AISES in Canada is where those paths meet. It is a gathering place for unity, where culture and science walk together, where mentorship replaces isolation, and where Indigenous ways of knowing are honored alongside innovation. Here, education becomes an act of love—love for ancestors, for future generations, and for one another. Learn more at aises.ca #IndigenousTikTok #NativeTikTok #FirstNations #Canada
