đźđȘ La FhĂ©ile PĂĄdraig sona daoibh - happy St. Patrick's Day! âïž St. Patrickâs Day, or Paddyâs Day, is an Irish holiday that has spread across the world. LĂĄ FhĂ©ile PĂĄdraig (pronounced law feyl-a Paw-rig), âthe Festival of Patrickâ, was originally a Christian holiday but has now become synonymous with Ireland and all things Irish. Almost every town in Ireland has its own parade, often featuring local sports teams, music and, strangely, farming equipment. Most people wear green clothing and pin shamrock to their clothes â though itâs hard to get the real thing! For Paddy's day we've released stats for the LuchorpĂĄn (better know as the leprechaun!) for both 5e and Legend in the Mist. In Beyond the Woods the LuchorpĂĄn (luhk-or-PAWN), like the ClĂșrachĂĄn, is a diminutive and solitary faerie. However, they are far nastier than their drink-loving cousins. The old tales tell of LuchorpĂĄn as helpful cobblers who offer mortals gold in exchange for the chance to mend their shoes. In truth, LuchorpĂĄn are malicious tricksters who have used these old stories to their advantage and turned them into a twisted joke. They lure unsuspecting travellers with the promise of gold in exchange for their shoes. The LuchorpĂĄn takes the shoes, foot and all, savagely hacking off the travellers feet at the ankle and leaving them with a bag of gold in exchange â only for the foolâs gold to turn to dirt and leaves a few hours later. You can grab the PDFs from the campaign page or by joining the discord! #dnd #stpatricksday #stpaddysday

Time for some Friday fun! Beyond the Woods has five different origins inspired by Irish folklore: Daoine (DEE-nuh), Aos SĂ (ay-os shee or eys shee), Baloran (bal-OR-in), PĂșca (POO-ka), and Changelings. Which one are you picking? Humans, also known as Daoine, are the most numerous of the folk of TĂr Nascath. They claim CĂ©ad Darach as their home, and many can trace their ancestral lines back to long before BĂĄs an tSaoil â though their true ownership over the city is up for debate. Humans are resilient and adaptable, and can often survive in the most hostile circumstances. PĂșca are shape-changing fae creatures from The Otherworld. They stand around 3 or 4 feet tall, with unusually long arms and animalistic features such as fur, antlers, and long ears. Most PĂșca find their way to TĂr Nascath accidentally, stumbling through faerie rings or emerging from portals deep in the wilds of the Cuilchemar. Baloran are the descendants of the legendary FomĂłiri warrior Balor, a tyrant who is said to have driven the gods from TĂr Nascath. Baloran inherited the dark beauty of their ancestors, and have long curved horns, cloven hooves, and root-like patterns along their flesh that seem to glow with an inner fire. Changelings are fae creatures who have been switched with a human child at birth. The Changeling babe takes on the appearance of the stolen child and grows as they would have grown. The Changeling often doesnât even know they are a Changeling, and only comes to the earth-shattering realisation when touched with cold iron. Their skin cracks and burns, revealing the dark leathery hide beneath. The Aos SĂ are faerie folk from beyond the Ballarainn Mountains to the north of CĂ©ad Darach. They have an ethereal and somewhat dreamlike quality that many people find unsettling. Aos SĂ are taller than most Daoine and their skin colour varies from earthy brown to deep green, often changing with the seasons. They have the ability to see into the Otherworld, which often gives them a faraway look, lending to the sense of unease that most people feel when around them. Beyond the Woods is available for preorder now for #dnd5e and live on Kickstarter for the Legend in the Mist system! #ttrpg #irish #ireland

Happy Halloween and Spooky Samhain to you all! Forget Sleepy Hollow, did you know that the legendary Headless Horseman is based on the Irish myth of the DĂșlachĂĄn (or Dullahan)? Sometimes appearing as mysterious coachmen, these black-clad riders were said to be servants of Crom Dubh, an ancient and malicious god. Crom Dubh would give the DĂșlachĂĄn the name of a mortal who had wronged him, or cheated him of a sacrifice, and the DĂșlachĂĄn relentlessly pursued the unfortunate soul, striking out the eyes of any he passed with a whip made from the bones of his victims. the DĂșlachĂĄn in Beyond the Woods is a truly terrifying sight to behold. It wears a tattered black cloak caked in mildew, beneath which lies armour as dark as pitch. It carries a whip made from the spinal bones of its victims and, where its head should be, grows a twisted likeness of an oak tree. In its hand it carries its own severed head that bears a rictus grin of razor sharp teeth. Blazing red eyes stare out from the sunken eye sockets, casting a baleful glow on any it looks upon. The DĂșlachĂĄnâs steed is the stuff of nightmares, with bone-like growths sprouting from its back and a second screaming head protruding from its neck. While they appear as horse and rider, some believe that the DĂșlachĂĄn and its steed are one being that chooses the form it takes when it enters this world. #halloween #samhain #dnd #irish #ttrpg
