You can listen anywhere you listen to music, and you can watch the music video on YouTube xxxx Anyways here’s a long caption to engage the algorithm lmaooo this is a blurb I had to write for my 2023 SXSW installation about synesthesia 😛 What is synesthesia? 🧠 Synesthesia is a neurodivergence that merges senses. You may hear smells, taste sounds, or feel colours. 🦸‍♀️ It is estimated that around 4% of the global adult population has a form of synesthesia, making it quite rare. It is often described as a ‘condition’, but myself and many other synesthetes don’t see synesthesia in a negative light- many of us consider it a super power, and cannot imagine life without it. 🎨 I have various forms of synesthesia, but the one that affects me the most is chromesthesia- where sounds evoke colours, patterns, textures, and movement. Every time I hear music, speech, or everyday sounds (such as car engines, sneezing and the washing machine buzzing), a visual perception of the sound happens instantaneously. My experiences of synesthesia are a massive influence on my upcoming installation at SXSW Sydney. As chromesthesia is incredibly hard to replicate and varies significantly from person to person, I felt representing auditory-tactile synaesthesia would be an effective way of translating the experience of synaesthesia to neurotypical/non-synaesthete audiences (although one day I hope to share my chromesthesia through art! 🤩) 📍 If you’re keen to find out what auditory-tactile synesthesia is like, come along to my SXSW Sydney installation on Wednesday 18th October, 11am-3pm at UTS Building 2. Here, you can find out what the feeling of various pieces of cutlery and crockery sound like to me 🍽️🎵 IF YOU READ THIS FAR COMMENT 📺📺📺 Love y’all 🫶🫶🫶 #chvrches #grimes #sviib #sarahkinsley #80ssynthpop

inspired by @LNA Does Audio Stuff !! as a musician and dancer, i'm constantly looking for ways to combine dance and music in more ways than just dancing to my favourite songs. i'm hoping to make this into a larger, more accessible experience for a range of spaces and abilities. it may just be on display soon... 🖤👟 #soundart #soundinstallation #interactiveart #musicart #musicandmovement #performanceart
