Today, I closed out Year 12 in education and Year 3 as a School Leader. Each year continues to teach me more about what it truly means to lead in urban education. This year began with the heartbreaking loss of one of our students and ended with celebrating 115 eighth graders as they took their next steps toward high school. The duality of those experiences is what makes this work so meaningful. As leaders, we are called to show up with strength, compassion, and consistency no matter the circumstances. I am grateful to lead such a beautiful school community filled with incredible staff, families, and students who made a challenging, character-building year worthwhile. While the work is never easy, it remains some of the most important work there is. #newark #kipp #principal #endoftheschoolyear #middleschool
