Here’s how you calculate your margin per sale after Printify costs, TikTok fees, and affiliate commissions. 👀Take a $28 t-shirt. Here's what you actually keep: A. Retail price → $28 B. Printify cost (production + shipping) → –$12 C. Gross profit → $16 D. Affiliate commission, 15% of retail → –$4.20 E. TikTok Shop fee, 6% of retail → –$1.68 F. Net margin per sale → $10.12 👉$28 sale. $10.12 in your pocket. That's around 36%. What most beginners miss: 👉Affiliate commission is taken from the full sale price – before your costs are covered. Set it too high, and you're paying affiliates to sell at a loss. Most POD sellers cap it at 10-15%. If you don’t use affiliates yet, just remove this number from your calculations. 👉TikTok's fee is also based on the full retail price – not your profit. Run a flash sale at 15% off, and your margin shrinks fast. Stack that with an affiliate commission, and you can drop below break-even. ❗️The rule that matters: Price every product backward from net profit.
