Officially back in the UK and back to business 🤍🕊️ I appreciate everyone’s love, patience, messages and condolences during this tragic time. This has genuinely been the first time I fully stepped away during bereavement and allowed myself to process things without feeling guilty. One thing I’ve realised is that work can become a protection mechanism. You stay busy, the pain dulls down for a moment, but your heart doesn’t always get the chance to heal. This journey back home to Lithuania transformed my perspective in ways I can’t fully explain yet. Seeing the impact my God Dad had on so many people’s lives was truly beautiful. I’ve always said he was a dad sent by God and seeing all of the journeys and lives he touched only proved that even more. Huge appreciation to everyone around me who held me down 🥹 Biggest shoutout to the PWTO team, Yunski and Abdul for keeping projects moving while I was away. Forever appreciate y’all. First event where I’ve seen Project Management discussed outside of a traditional Project Management space. Usually I’m either attending pure PM events or I’m the one putting my hand up at other events trying to explain how project management connects to what people do. But Music Takeover was different. Watching creatives, artists, filmmakers, producers and music professionals slowly realise how much project management already exists within their world was honestly beautiful to witness. The room shifted from: “Wait… this is project management?” to “Hold on… I actually need this.” Because the reality is: Every album rollout, music video, live show, campaign, collaboration and creative vision is a project. And when creatives finally see project management not as corporate jargon, but as a tool to help them execute their ideas, everything changes. We started the day with one big question: What does project management have to do with creatives and music? At first, there was confusion. Then everything shifted. Hearing from @jeremiahgogo , @francesco_ruvolo , and @melchiorre_ruvolo showed how project management is already being used behind the scenes from labels @314records to teams working with @BetaSquad That’s when it clicked. Then Nadia @Nadia | Boss Connector and Neda @Offscript.Collective showed how this actually applies to creatives. You could feel the room change. Replying to @Ofosua Foods I would still highly reccomend starting your project management journey through a consultancy even with all of the negatives, unless you got a coach that will essentially be able to guide you and help secure you those top level roles. As essentially consultancies do get paid a lot for you, so you could be getting all of that salary however if you’re not sure how to do it on your own then a consultancy taking 50% of your salary is better than no salary! Entry level pm roles are much easier to transition to, do not expect you to know risk management, planning, change Managment, benefits realisation etc so it’s less for you to have to prepare for. This is also a £40k-£50k role, which is great to get started your career on! Project coordinator, admin, administrator, assistant, support, entry level PMO.
