NoNormal: a concentrated coffee paste from Switzerland. Coffee in a tube is definitely a little unconventional, but that's part of what makes it so interesting. If you drink coffee on the go, you have to try @wearenonormal. #coffee #coffeepaste #NoNormalPartner

When I first got into specialty coffee, I remember hearing someone say, “I get a lot of purple in this coffee.” And I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. Purple? In coffee? But the more coffees I tasted, the more it started to make sense. I began associating certain flavors with colors, and eventually, describing a coffee as “red” or “purple” felt surprisingly intuitive. For example, a purple coffee might remind me of blackberry, plum, or grape, while a yellow coffee might bring to mind lemon, pineapple, or other bright, citrusy flavors. Of course, this isn't an exact science. There's no official system for assigning colors to coffee flavors, and everyone's perception is a little different. Our personal experiences, cultural backgrounds, and even where we grew up can influence which flavors we associate with certain colors. What tastes purple to me might taste red or blue to someone else. But that's part of what makes coffee tasting so interesting. Sometimes it's easier to describe a coffee with a color than to pinpoint an exact tasting note. So here's a little guide to what different colors might mean when someone uses them to describe coffee. 🌈☕️ Do you find it helpful to describe a coffee by its color?

Red wine pour over. Coffee and red wine actually share a lot of similarities, from fruity tasting notes to acidity and body. So I wanted to see what would happen if I brewed coffee directly with red wine. The final result was a wine that still maintains much of its original character, but with an added layer of coffee flavor. It's a pretty unconventional combination, but one that's surprisingly interesting. I’m sure some wine nerds out there could tell me the best type of wines to pair with coffee—and potentially bash me for trying something so crazy in the first place. :) #wine #redwine #coffee #coffeexperiment #pullandpour

Hot Pepper Moka Pot 🌶️ ☕️ I’ve seen others do this with espresso and thought it might be a gimmick. I tried it with my moka pot though and I couldn’t believe how spicy it was. My mouth was on 🔥. #coffee #specialtycoffee #coffeeexperiment #mokapot #pullandpour

Valencia Orange Pour Over 🍊🧊☕️ Some people have mentioned trying to flip the orange to brew on the outside peel vs the inside that can be more bitter. I used a Valencia orange that is a bit larger to make sure I could make the flip. It worked better than I thought, though not sure the flip made a huge difference in final cup flavor. #coffee #coffeerecipe #pourover #icedcoffee #specialtycoffee

Orange Moka Pot 🍊☕️ I’m starting to explore infusing unique flavors in my moka pot brews. It feels like an interesting combination between pour over and espresso that could yield some great results. This first attempt with the orange wasn’t a huge success though. It was much more bitter than pour over variations, so may need to adjust things a bit… #coffee #specialtycoffee #coffeeexperiment #mokapot #pullandpour

Making coffee on an airplane with the @TIMEMORE new Chestnut S5 Pro hand grinder and Black Mirror Dot scale. I have loved integrating these two products into my travel workflow. The S5 Pro is one of the most capable hand grinders I’ve ever used and yet still so compact that it works great for travel. The Dot is truly the perfect travel scale. It is incredibly small, weighs only 50g, and yet when paired with the app allows for a full range of functionality like pour over mode, espresso mode, live flow rate and more. Products like the S5 Pro and Dot scale make making great coffee anywhere—even an airplane—super easy! #timemore #timemorecoffee #timemoreproducts #pullandpour

Maple Cinnamon Coffee Milk Whenever I have extra cold brew, I throw it into these large ice cubes. It’s great for coffee cocktails, but I also love to make this maple cinnamon coffee milk. The warm milk melts the coffee ice cube enough to infuse the coffee flavor initially and then slowly becomes stronger as the ice cube melts and you drink the milk.

Freezing coffee in a large ice cube and then using that as your ice for a cocktail is a great way to add coffee to a cocktail. It slowly infuses the coffee flavor into the cocktail in a beautifully refined and delicious way. This riff on a Coffee Old Fashioned is one of my favorites.

This @aeropress Apple Butter Brûlée Iced Latte is my fall transition drink…for when you’re ready for apple, brown sugar and cinnamon, but definitely not ready to say goodbye to iced coffee. Apple butter and whole milk create a creamy base, while the coffee is brewed with cinnamon, brown sugar and a brûléed apple for an extra layer of caramelized fall flavor. It’s sweet, creamy, coffee-forward and basically everything I want from this time of year. Ingredients: * 1TB apple butter * 4-6oz whole milk * Pinch of sea salt * 1/2TB brown sugar * Pinch of cinnamon * 18g finely ground coffee (~1 heaping scoop) * 100g water, 200°F (93–95°C) (to “2” mark) Instructions: 1. Add coffee & cinnamon to the AeroPress. 2. Layer brown sugar on an apple slice and brûlée with cocktail smoker. 3. Add brûléed apple to the AeroPress. 4. Pour 100g hot water, saturating evenly. 5. Stir aggressively for 7-10 seconds. 6. Steep 45 seconds. 7. Insert plunger and press slowly over 30-40 seconds. Set aside to cool. 8. Add apple butter, milk and sea salt to a glass. 9. Use a frother to mix ingredients together until well mixed. 10. Add ice to glass and pour coffee on top. 11. Stir and garnish with an apple slice. #aeropresspartner #aeropress #coffee #coffeerecipe #pullandpour
