Exciting announcement of our next chronically ill coffee club tickets at www.reconditionmcr.com 🎀💖 Our first coffee club in April was an absolute success and we left with our cups feeling so so full, so we had to do it again!💖 We wanted to create a safe space for those living with a chronic illness to chat away about the good, the bad, the ups and the downs of your journey without fear of judgement. It’s just a few hours on a Sunday afternoon 12 -3pm to offer a bit of escapism from a world where we’re constantly trying to be okay. It sold out and over the last year we’ve had sooo many people asking ‘when’s the next one???’ so we’re trying to make it happen! Everyone welcomed, everyone seen and everyone supported 💗 After so much conversation online over the last week around the awful article (we all know which one I’m talking about) I wanted to share a lil bit of positivity coming up this Sunday our next @chronicallyillcoffeeclub ☕️ The support this community has shown me and each other is truly beautiful and no matter what silly Poppy says, she won’t taint that or change that, if anything it makes us want to do more! When you try so hard to make positive changes and remove stigma to life with a disability it truly is SO frustrating to see @telegraph platform a voice like this… The article itself has so many sentences that seem utterly comical because it’s clear the author of this article is so far removed from what life with a disability/chronic illness is. The comparison to ‘making up illness’ as a child is absolutely crazy… do you think we choose to be disabled?! If anything this cements why we need to make noise, why we need to continue this fight because no matter what we do someone will always try to make it harder for us. Sticking gems on matcha cups is a ‘lifestyle trend’ not sharing your own lived experience to connect and bring others together in a minority community. #disability #chronicillness
