Replying to @rachelcrossleywatters Recently, I shared a clip asking people not to push past assistance dogs. I am genuinely shocked at the number of people who would willingly bring harm to an assistance dog on an escalator. Pushing past a dog could result in someone losing their independence…

Handles can make it harder to initially evaluate the fit, comfort, and movement of a harness. We opt to do a couple trips out using a new harness more like a vest before adding handles. It also lets us compare the harness with and without a handle to pinpoint if adding a handle has caused issues…

Pushing past to save a couple extra seconds could risk someone's independence. It could result in an injury or other serious consequences to the handler or dog. Disabled people are allowed to exist and take up space with their medical aids. VD: two clips of people pushing past an assistance dog…

Even though River is qualified, training new situations and tasks applications is so important for keeping her skills up to scratch. It's OK for her to make mistakes and problem solve during training, assistance dogs aren't programmable robots - novel areas and situations can mean that they make…

Replying to @winnieandmayRecently, we had an access refusal when we went to go see a show. Although the employee was well-meaning but misguided in their intentions, access refusal can get exhausting for disabled people just trying to go around their daily lives. Our access refusal was dealt with…
