Plan B? Who has a plan B? Someone asked me that two days ago and I had never been asked before. If you want to be an entrepreneur, there is no plan B. This is the trailer for the No Experience Necessary tour: one Airstream, one minute, and students on campus after campus betting on themselves. A…

Got an idea? No experience? Perfect. One Airstream, 26 campuses, and one minute on the clock. Pitch me your idea, and if I love it, you get funded on the spot to build it. We have more campus stops than your tour guide, and we're not done yet. Is your campus next? My book, No Experience Necessary…

Vishal pitched me a car mods app at George Washington University. One minute. I said yes. You snap a photo of your car and the app lists the parts that fit, then uses AI to render how they will look before you buy anything. Car guys spend hours researching compatibility and thousands on parts that…

Day 15: Los Angeles. Today we're at Otis College of Art and Design, one of the places where some of the best toy designers in the world come from. We hire a lot of Otis grads at our offices in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Fashion, animation and design all come together here to bring…

When do you pull the plug on a product, and when do you keep going? Don't bet the farm. Stay in the game. We don't bet the farm. We stay in the game, because when you stay in the game, magical things happen. If we had stopped making TV shows after Bakugan, we would never have gotten to PAW Patrol…

She started a donut business at 15. Now she's a freshman at Michigan State. Hot, fresh, made to order. Zoey started Zo's Mini Donuts in an old 1950s Coca-Cola food truck in Southwest Michigan with no restaurant experience, just her sister and a day at a time. Now she wants to bring the donuts to…

How do you deal with indecisiveness? That spark of intuition is your wisdom. When your intuition calls you somewhere, that spark is your wisdom, and you need to act on it right away. Not in a month, not in two. The insight and the passion fade, and then the doubt comes. It's good to talk to…

POV: one Airstream, one minute, one big idea. And a shot at winning $25K. Yes, that PAW Patrol. I co-founded Spin Master and co-created PAW Patrol, and now I'm on the road listening to your pitch. My book, No Experience Necessary, is available for free on Spotify. I'm on tour at college campuses…

What do you see differently because of your dysgraphia? I read people. I listen to tone. I read body language and I listen to tone and intonation, and I pick up a lot from both. My intuition is super high because of it. One teacher told me she didn't care how many pieces of paper I needed to write…

Toronto, I'm coming to you. On Thursday, November 5, I'll be at the Rotman School of Management. One minute to pitch me your idea. If I say yes, you get a $500 check and a chance to win $25,000. My book, No Experience Necessary, is available for free on Spotify. Bring your idea. Register at the…

As a young person starting a business, you are uniquely positioned to sense cultural changes in a way that older competitors simply can't. You live in the culture before it becomes the market. Trust what you see. My book, No Experience Necessary, is available for free on Spotify. I'm on tour at…

If you started over, what would you do differently? Same pace. Same passion. Less minutiae. I don't know if I'd be in this industry, but I would execute the same way, with the pace and the passion, and without getting caught up in the small details that rob you of your energy. I'm the biggest…

Arizona, I'm coming to you. On Tuesday, November 3, I'll be at the University of Arizona. One minute to pitch me your idea. If I say yes, you get a $500 check and a chance to win $25,000. My book, No Experience Necessary, is available for free on Spotify. Bring your idea. Register at the link in…

How do you get your foot in the door today? Start with your network. Tell people what you're doing. Don't be shy. Start with your network and tell people what you're looking to achieve. I'm a big proponent of verbalizing things, because nothing happens if it stays in our heads. The people you meet…

When to go all in on one business idea? Get in motion. Nothing is perfect. For us, we weren't that picky. We met ourselves where we were and got moving, because when you're in motion you unlock your own magic and your own luck, and the universe starts to feed you more support. If you're sitting on…

A dynamic soundscape system for businesses. Bingqing pitched me at Boston University. One minute. No deal. The idea is intentional sound that adapts in real time, going beyond background noise. It's really unique, but I question how easy it is to monetize. Bingqing, thank you for the pitch. My…

If you take yourself seriously, if you pursue your chosen endeavor with passion and conviction and earnest desire, people will absolutely respond in kind. Not only will they accord you the respect and attention you deserve, they'll actively go out of their way to help you however they can. My…

Gabrielle pitched me Red Ground Productions at Columbia: a production company for young adult stories, made by young adults. One minute. I said yes. She incorporated it over the summer and didn't want to wait for the industry to make the work she wants to see. She'd rather make it herself. That's…

How do you handle risk? Take calculated risks. Never bet the farm. My philosophy has changed maybe 15 or 20 percent since the early days, but you still need to constantly be taking risks. Passion de-risks it: how passionate are you about bringing this idea into the world? On the flip side, don't…

Day 5: Columbia University. We brought the Airstream to Columbia, walked past that spectacular library, and put a minute on the clock. Pitch me, and if I love it, you get $500 and seven days to build. A family recipe app. A pop-up shop. A Syracuse student who caught us in New York. I kept saying…

An app that preserves family recipes. Maitreyi pitched me at Columbia. One minute. I said yes. When your grandparents are gone, you miss their voice and their cooking. Maitreyi wants to save both, with translation built in so family who married in and speak another language can follow along. Food…

60 seconds. One big idea. Win $500 for your pitch, then get 7 days to build your idea. 10 winners. $25,000 EACH. What would YOU pitch? #Entrepreneurship #Startup #Innovation #StudentEntrepreneur #Business

Having passion for something lowers your risk, simply because you find that you have what it takes to rise to almost any challenge. Pick something you actually care about. It carries you through the hard days. My book, No Experience Necessary, is available for free on Spotify. I'm on tour at…

Should toy makers cater to kids or parents? I personally never think about the parents. The kids are going to win at the end of the day. Parents want their kids to be doing something, so they give them what the kids want. The parents are really secondary. Just focus on the innovation. Thank you to…

Day 13: Vanderbilt University. Yesterday we were at the Vanderbilt medical center. 305 pitches so far, and 105 microgrants of $500 each. The craziest part is watching people document how they spend their $500 in seven days. One of them told us they moved their business further in seven days than…

1 book. 14 campuses. Halfway there. No Experience Necessary has been riding along in the Airstream since our first stop at Penn. Every campus, every pitch, every student who stepped up to the window. We're halfway through the tour and just getting started. My book, No Experience Necessary, is…
