ᴄᴇꜱᴀʀᴇ ʙᴏʀɢɪᴀ ⚔️ When I first heard this song, I immediately thought of Cesare Borgia, especially because of the first part, which is the one I used for this edit. The image of the “fearless rider”, riding through the night with a clear goal and a dream in mind, really reminds me of his personality with his ambition, determination, and relentless drive to achieve what he wanted. At the same time, the questions “Who does he turn to when it all comes crashing down?” and “Who saves the saviour?” give a much more tragic meaning. Behind the image of someone strong, fearless and seemingly unstoppable, there is still someone vulnerable when everything eventually falls apart. Creating edits inspired by medieval or Renaissance worlds feels, in a personal way, is like feeding an ancient part of my soul that still belongs somewhere among castles, candlelight, embroidered gowns and forgotten courts. I wanted to post this edit yesterday because exactly 10 years ago Cherry Season came out in Italy. Even though I discovered it a year later, when I finally started watching it, it quickly became something special. Öykü and Ayaz are the kind of couple that make you dream and believe in love. I think the reason so many people love Öykü and Ayaz is that they’re imperfect, stubborn, funny and incredibly genuine. They make mistakes, they are jealous and tease each other, argue and grow together. Their chemistry is effortless and they have that rare ability to make you smile one second and completely melt your heart the next. Of course, there are plenty of scenes that feel over the top, but that’s also what makes them so fun to watch. But Cherry Season is much more than just a love story. It has a warmth that is hard to explain with also family moments, the friendships, the humor, the colorful atmosphere, the music and the little everyday scenes. That’s the beauty of this series for me because it’s lighthearted, comforting, and every time I watch it, time seems to disappear. When Dracula spoke to Mina, his words seemed to reflect the love that echoed within the castle walls . Mina represented not only a new encounter, but also the reflection of a love that has never truly disappeared. Ultimately, the passing of time in the song mirrors Dracula’s journey so centuries separated him from Elisabeta, yet his love remained unchanged. I believe one of the most moving scenes is the one in which he begs for the body of his fallen son so that he may be granted a proper funeral, even kissing the hands that killed his son Hector, unarmed and humble before his enemy. Through Priam’s grief I wanted to point out how even triumph kneel before loss, and that compassion, born in suffering, can momentarily still even the fiercest of wars. Yet I also wanted to bring forth Hector and Achilles as warriors: both were indeed warriors, but they fought for profoundly different causes. In every era few are touched by a love that teaches you a new language, such a strong love. Dracula loved his Elizabeta so intensely, so much, and that’s why this film was so beloved.
