When manatee calves are found orphaned, nursing them back to health requires some extra attention. Using special bottles and a formula we developed, the care team will sometimes hand-feed calves to ensure they are getting the proper nutrition needed to grow and thrive. #manateeappreciationday #manatee #manateetiktok #manateetok #babyanimals #animalrescue

This little one was ready to come out of its shell! Every once in a while, penguin parents may need a little extra help caring for their eggs. That’s when the care teams will provide some assistance and place the eggs in an incubator to make sure they stay nice and toasty. #babypenguin #penguin #penguins #fyp

VIF - Very important feathers. Bald eagle feathers have major significance in Native American religious and cultural ceremonies. So when Star goes through a molt, our team collects her feathers and sends them to the National Eagle Repository for distribution. #baldeagle #feathers

On Father’s Day, we just HAD to share one of our favorite dads: Garfield the walrus. In the years since becoming a dad, Garfield has helped teach his calves crucial walrus behaviors and how to participate in their own husbandry. We wish all the wonderful dads like Garfield a very Happy Father’s Day! #walrus #walruses #happyfathersday

It has been a long year of rehab and surgeries for mom, but she and her calf are well on the road to recovery. Ever heard of stony coral tissue loss disease? Well it’s currently decimating the Florida Reef Tract and there is no known cure. With our partners at the Florida Coral Rescue Center, we are helping to house and gene-bank rescued healthy corals and eventually spawn new corals to replenish the reef in areas that are free of disease. This rescue work goes beyond a single species: with corals, we are actually helping to rescue an entire ecosystem. #coral #worldreefawarenessday

Bet you can’t recognize this guy by his x-ray. It’s Ridgway when he first came into our care as an orphan! By taking an x-ray at Ridgway’s intake, the care team was able to diagnose him with bilateral pneumonia. They planned a treatment method and now Ridgway’s lungs are free of infection. #animalrehabilitation #xray #dolphintok #howitstarted
