🚨 Builders who do this… WHY?! 😭 The hardest part of this entire flooring demo was cutting the old hardwood perfectly flush around the kitchen cabinet bases. Since I’m keeping the cabinets, I had to clear out everything under the dishwasher and range too. The wood was so dry and hard it was literally SMOKING. My battery DeWalt couldn’t handle it, but the corded Kobalt reciprocating saw saved the day. 🛠️⚡ 💀 REAL QUESTION: What would you do here? Cut around them like a champ or say screw it and rip the cabinets out too? Let me know! Stay tuned, new flooring arrives in a few days and the install video is dropping next! 📦👇 #f#flooringdemod#diyprojectk#kitchenrenovationb#buildergradeh#homeimprovement

Looking for an easy way to organize shoes in a closet? In this DIY project, I assemble and install two wooden shoe racks in our entryway closet to get shoes off the floor and keep the front door area clutter-free. I chose two different rack lengths so they fit the closet while leaving room on both sides to pull them in and out. I also explain why I chose wooden shoe racks over expandable metal ones, which can sag or bend under heavy use. 📏 TIP: Measure your closet before ordering and leave clearance on the sides so the racks slide out easily. A tight fit makes everyday use frustrating. Want the slow video go @simplestepsdiy YouTube Channel. #ShoeRack #ShoeStorage #ClosetOrganization #EntrywayOrganization #SimpleStepsDIY

I couldn’t believe how quickly this hole saw cut through the granite! Watching the countertop installers cut the faucet hole right on-site was impressive. They used a high-torque tool, and that hole saw made it look almost effortless! Sometimes you see a tool in action and realize there’s a whole different level of power out there. Would you have expected granite to cut this easily? #GraniteCountertops #KitchenRemodel #HomeRenovation #ToolsInAction #DIYHomeImprovement

The kitchen is FINALLY coming back together! 🙌 After all the work from the water damage, I finally installed the kitchen faucet, garbage disposal, and dishwasher. The new granite countertop is in, everything is hooked back up, and I can finally use my kitchen again! There’s only one major thing left is the backsplash! 👀 It’s been a long process, but seeing the kitchen this close to finished makes it all worth it. Would you tackle the backsplash yourself or hire it out? 👇 #KitchenRemodel #KitchenRenovation #HomeRenovation #DIYHomeImprovement #KitchenTransformation

The granite countertop is finally installed, and WOW… what a difference! 🤩 The kitchen feels so much brighter and the remodel is really starting to come together. In my full-length video, I show how the installers carefully moved this giant slab of granite into the kitchen, positioned it on the cabinets, and completed the installation. Now I’m waiting for the adhesive to dry before I reinstall the sink plumbing, dishwasher, and faucet. One step closer to having this kitchen completely finished! Watch the full installation to see how they got that massive piece of granite inside! #KitchenRemodel #GraniteCountertops #HomeRenovation #DIYHomeImprovement #KitchenTransformation

Question: What bird is this? Pigeons nesting under solar panels can be a real problem. I had the same issue at my house, so I installed netting around my panels and had them installed tighter to help prevent pigeons from getting underneath. My neighbor has been dealing with the same problem but recently, an unexpected predator started showing up. Today I was in my driveway when I watched it come down like lightning and strike a pigeon right in front of me. Luckily, I had my camera rolling! Nature is fascinating. 🦅 #SolarPanels #PigeonProblem #BirdsOfPrey #Wildlife

My 1 HP garbage disposal died… and I quickly remembered how HEAVY these things are! 😳 Trying to hold a heavy garbage disposal under the sink while removing or installing it can be a real struggle, and dropping it could damage your cabinet. 💡 So I tried something different: the car jack from my vehicle! I placed it underneath the disposal, lifted it into position, and let the jack do the heavy lifting while I worked on the mounting ring. It made removing the old one MUCH easier. I used the same trick to help install the new garbage disposal. Full step-by-step installation video is now on my YouTube channel! I used a PVC reaming tool to clean up the glued PVC fittings and finish my kitchen sink plumbing without having to cut into the wall! 🙌 A simple plumbing cleanup made the difference and now the sink plumbing is clean, secure, and DONE! This under-sink cabinet had some serious water damage from a leak 😳 Instead of replacing the entire cabinet, the damaged section of the base was cut out and rebuilt around the two drain pipes. Slats of particle board were used to work around the plumbing, with 4x4 wood supports underneath to hold everything in place. Is this the way you would have repaired it, or would you have replaced the entire cabinet? 👇 #UnderSinkRepair #CabinetRepair #WaterDamage #DIYHomeRepair #KitchenRemodel

Installing a bathtub? Don’t skip this step! 🔨🛁 Before installing your tile or surround panels, the tub needs to be properly anchored to the wall studs and checked for level. The American Standard tub I’m installing came with both plastic and metal anchors, so you can choose the option that works best for your installation. The key is placing the anchors directly over the studs and securing the tub with screws. Some installers use a board along the wall and screw the tub flange into the studs there’s more than one way to get the job done. The most important part: make sure that tub is perfectly level before moving on! #BathtubInstallation #DIYBathroom #BathroomRemodel #DIYHomeImprovement #TubInstallation

I finally gave my old kitchen cabinets a second life! ♻️ Instead of sending perfectly good cabinets to the landfill, I installed 4 of them in my garage for extra storage and organization. Now I finally have a place for all those screws, supplies, and other things that always seem to disappear when I need them! 😂 My garage organization project is still a work in progress, but this is already making a huge difference! Would you recycle old kitchen cabinets for garage storage? 👇 #DIY #GarageOrganization #Garage #repurpose #homeimprovement

An $18 refrigerator ice maker valve caused a leak that led to THOUSANDS of dollars in damage! The crazy part? Replacing the faulty valve was actually a simple fix. Lesson learned: When I travel, I’m turning off the water supply to my refrigerator! I was at Lowe’s and found a pretty good deal! 🔥 A 10-pack of 15A receptacles was $10.75, and they were giving away a 10-pack of matching covers for FREE with the purchase. I grabbed a box for my next project. Even if you don’t need them right now, these are the kind of basic electrical supplies that can be handy to have on hand for future repairs. If you’re heading to Lowe’s, check to see if this deal is available at your store! Would you stock up at this price? 👇 #Lowes #DIYDeals #HomeImprovement #DIY #Electrical

I walked into a bathroom in a government building and noticed something I’ve never seen before a RED GFCI outlet! 👀 Is there a specific reason they used red? Is it for identification, visibility, or simply the building’s preference? Have you ever seen a red GFCI or installed one in your home? Tomorrow I start installing my new kitchen cabinets, and I’m excited to see how this kitchen transformation turns out! But before you start installing your cabinets, INSPECT THEM! 👀📦 Check every cabinet for scratches, dents, cracks, broken parts, or shipping damage. If you find something damaged, contact your vendor immediately and request a replacement. Waiting could mean waiting on a replacement cabinet and that could delay your entire kitchen installation. Follow along as this kitchen remodel comes together! #KitchenRemodel #KitchenCabinets #CabinetInstallation #KitchenRenovation #DIYHomeImprovement

Part 3 of my old lawn mower repair challenge! I finally started taking the engine apart and inspecting what’s been hiding inside this mower that sat for years. I removed the top cover, drained the old oil, cleaned out leaves and gunk, inspected the spark plug, checked the recoil starter, and looked over the fuel line and other components. Now I’m getting closer to the big question… Will this old lawn mower actually run again? I’m not a small-engine mechanic. I’m challenging myself to see if I can fix it, bring it back to life, and eventually donate it to a family that needs a mower. 👉 Follow along for the next part and see what happens when I try to start it! Sometimes the things we see every day carry a deeper message. 🌅 I recently found myself reflecting on the shadow, and what it can represent in our lives. What if the shadow isn’t something to fear, but something that can teach us, reveal something to us, and draw us closer to God? This reflection really made me stop and think. I hope it speaks to you too. 🙏 What does “the shadow” mean to you? Drop your thoughts in the comments. 👇 #ChristianTikTok #life #God #believe #SpiritualGrowth

I need some advice from the plumbers out there. 👨🔧 I’m replacing my kitchen sink cabinet, but the dishwasher standpipe (PVC drain) was installed after the cabinet, so I had to cut the back of the old cabinet just to get it out. Now I’m wondering about the best way to install the new cabinet. Should I cut holes in the back for the dishwasher drain, garbage disposal drain, and outlet, or is there a better way to retrofit the plumbing so I can install the cabinet first and reconnect everything afterward? How would you handle this? 👇 #plumbing #dishwasherdrain #kitchensink #cabinetinstallation #DIY

Before installing my new LVP flooring, I sealed the subfloor with KILZ primer to help block odors, stains, and prepare the surface for a clean installation. It’s an extra step many DIYers skip, but it can make a big difference, especially after water damage or old flooring removal. Do you prime the subfloor before installing new flooring? Drop a comment let me know your proces. #DIY #Flooring #LVPFlooring #Subfloor #KILZ

I accidentally discovered a better way to remove backsplash tiles with tiny grout lines! 🤯 Instead of using a grout removal blade (which can be too thick and chip the tile), I used a dull oscillating multi-tool blade. Since it’s thinner, it slides into the narrow grout joint much easier and helps separate the tiles with less damage. If you’re removing a kitchen backsplash and want to save your drywall or reuse your tiles, give this hack a try! Would you use this method, or do you have a better tile removal trick? 👇 #DIY #TileRemoval #KitchenBacksplash #HomeRenovation #OscillatingTool

🪚 I finally retired my 20-year-old Ryobi and put the Metabo HPT C10FCG2M to work! I tested it on a real project, installing baseboards throughout my house after replacing my floors. I wanted something lightweight, portable, and easy to carry from room to room… and this saw definitely surprised me. The LED Shadow Line is a nice touch, and the cuts were smooth right out of the box. Would you choose this over a DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Ryobi? 🤔 Let me know in the comments! #MetaboHPT #MiterSaw #DIY #HomeImprovement #ToolReview

DIY surprise! 🤯 I couldn’t remove my kitchen sink cabinet because the dishwasher drain was blocking it. Since the PVC standpipe was installed after the cabinet, my only option was to cut straight down the back of the cabinet just to slide it out. Here’s what really has me scratching my head… 🤔 I have TWO drain stubs coming out of the wall, one for the garbage disposal and another dedicated to the dishwasher. I’ve always seen just one drain under a sink. Is this normal? What’s the proper way to remove a cabinet without cutting it up? And why would there be two separate drains instead of one? Let me know what you would have done! 👇 #DIYKitchen #KitchenRemodel #CabinetRemoval #HomeRenovation #DIYProject
