SoundSwitch 2.11 introduces PRO DJ LINK Bridge support, allowing SoundSwitch to receive performance data from compatible PRO DJ LINK setups and keep lighting synchronised throughout a performance. This graphic shows the workflow at a glance. CDJs and the mixer connect through a network switch, which connects to a laptop running PRO DJ LINK Bridge and SoundSwitch. A SoundSwitch Control One or supported DMX interface then connects your lighting rig, allowing SoundSwitch to respond to playback and performance data from the setup. Once connected, SoundSwitch can recognise loaded tracks, trigger the associated light shows and keep lighting synchronised with playback, loops, pitch changes and transitions across multiple decks. For DJs discovering SoundSwitch for the first time, it's software that synchronises lighting with DJ performances. Light shows stay aligned with what's happening on the decks while still allowing hands-on lighting control through features like Performance Overrides, Static Looks and Autoloops. If you've been wondering how SoundSwitch and PRO DJ LINK Bridge fit together, this graphic shows the complete signal path at a glance. Learn more through the link in bio.

How do you actually get your lights set up and reacting to music in SoundSwitch? This is part two of the SoundSwitch Desktop tutorial series. Start with a blank venue, add your DMX fixtures from a library of hundreds of manufacturers including Chauvet, organise your DMX addresses in the matrix, then right-click any playlist connected from Engine DJ and hit AutoScript. SoundSwitch analyses every track and writes a complete DJ lighting show for each one automatically. Whether you are a mobile DJ, a venue DJ, a club DJ or just getting started with DMX lighting control, AutoScripting a full playlist takes minutes and means every track you play has a light show ready to go. Save this for when you set up your first venue. Part three is coming. SoundSwitch Summer Sale is on now, link in bio.

If you DJ events and you are still ignoring the lighting, SoundSwitch is where you start. Here is your first look inside. Save this video for when you are ready to set it up. SoundSwitch Desktop is DMX lighting software designed by DJs for DJs. It runs in two modes: Edit Mode and Performance Mode. Edit Mode is your workspace, where you AutoScript full light shows for individual tracks or entire playlists using Phrase Detection, which automatically breaks each track into musical sections like intro, main, bridge and outro and syncs lighting effects to each one. Set up multiple venue configurations so every lighting rig you use regularly is ready to go at the top of the screen. Build Autoloops as a backup light show for any track you have not scripted yet, so you always have something running in sync. Use Static Looks to take total manual control of every DMX fixture, moving head or smart light in your setup. And trigger Live Override FX on the fly via any MIDI compatible device. SoundSwitch is compatible with Engine DJ, Serato DJ Pro, Virtual DJ and Ableton Link, and supports DMX, Philips Hue and Nanoleaf lighting hardware. Follow for more SoundSwitch tutorials and visit the link in bio to try it free.

What if your lights could read your tracks as well as you do? Autoscripting in SoundSwitch analyzes your music, finds the energy shifts, and builds a dynamic lightshow around every phrase. Intros, drops, breakdowns, all handled automatically. It’s a huge time‑saver, and you still get full control with presets, cue options, fixture categories, and advanced tweaks when you want to shape the look your way. Are you using Autoscripting in your workflow right now? #DJ #DJLighting #LivePerformance

Want to get started with SoundSwitch but not sure where to begin? 🤔 This quick walkthrough shows you how to connect the Micro DMX Interface to your laptop, link it with SoundSwitch, and take control of your first light. Step by step. If you’ve been meaning to add lighting to your setup, this is your starting point. What other beginner guides would help you most? #SoundSwitch #DJ #DJLighting

Want your lights to stay in time without tapping BPM all night? SoundSwitch BPM Detection listens to the audio and automatically locks your lighting to the tempo of the music. Set it up once, connect your Control One or DMX interface, and your Autoloops stay in sync as the music changes. You can still tap BPM or fine-tune things manually when you need to, but BPM Detection takes a lot of the guesswork out of running a clean, musical light show. Especially useful for live music, open format sets, and situations where tempo moves around. Save this for when you are setting up your lights and want everything running tight from the start. #SoundSwitch #DJLighting #DMX

This is why custom light shows matter. DJ Austo took a song that already meant everything to a couple and made it even more personal by building a custom light show in SoundSwitch to match their final dance. From a custom mashup to lights scripted around the music, this is a perfect example of how lighting can turn a moment into a memory. Weddings, first dances, last songs, when the music is personal, the lights should be too. SoundSwitch makes it easy to design shows that feel intentional, not generic. #SoundSwitch #WeddingDJ #DJLighting

Take your lighting with you... Part 4 wraps up the Control One series by showing how to store venues and Autoloop data directly on the device. Once your venue is set up in Edit Mode, you can export it straight to the Control One from the File menu. Choose the venue you want, export it, then switch back to Performance Mode. You’ll see the venue listed with a USB icon, showing it’s now stored on the Control One and ready to use. From there, you can load that venue instantly and jump straight into Performance Mode. All your Autoloops, colour controls, and override FX are already set up, so you can focus on running the show instead of rebuilding it every time. Getting connected is simple. Plug the Control One into your computer via USB, connect your lighting to the DMX output on the back, and you’ll see the Control One appear in the Hardware tab inside SoundSwitch Preferences. Once it’s there, you’re ready to go. This is the final piece that makes the Control One feel portable, repeatable, and reliable across different venues. Save this for your next setup, and check out the earlier parts if you’re just getting started. #DJLighting #LightingControl #LiveMusic

No DJ software? No problem. Part 3 of the Control One series is all about using SoundSwitch as a complete lighting system on its own. Standalone Mode is ideal for live bands, venues, rehearsals, pop-up events, and situations where you want lighting control without running DJ software. It also works well as a backup lighting system, or for spaces where a house computer handles lights independently from the DJ setup. You still get hands-on control, real-time changes, and a show that stays musical without being locked to a playback source. To get started, open SoundSwitch in Performance Mode, hold Shift, then press Link. This launches Autoloops and gets the light show running straight away. SoundSwitch can now detect BPM automatically from audio input, helping keep your lights in time without constant adjustment. You can still use the Tap BPM button at any time if you want to fine-tune the tempo manually. If the phrasing ever feels off, hold Shift and press Play/Pause to reset the downbeat and bring the light show back into phrase. Once you are locked in, you can cycle through Autoloops using the bank buttons, trigger Autoloop Overrides, or switch the pad matrix into Static Look mode to launch fixed looks, colour overrides, and effects. All controls work exactly the same as they do with DJ software connected, with the added flexibility of automatic BPM detection or manual control when you need it. Save this for when you try Standalone Mode, and follow for Part 4. #DJLighting #LiveMusic #LightingControl

This is where control really starts to feel hands on. Part 2 focuses on the lower section of the Control One, covering Autoloops, Static Looks, Intensity control, and the connections on the back of the unit. The lower half of the Control One is where you launch Autoloops and Static Looks, using the bank buttons at the top and the toggle to switch between the two modes. The touch strip lets you control light intensity in real time, with the option to switch between Autoloop intensity and scripted track intensity depending on how you want your lights to behave. You can also use the group buttons to jump between different fixture groups, making it easy to dial in intensity for specific lights without affecting the whole room. Around the back, dual USB ports allow for easy handovers between DJs, or switching between a DJ setup and a second computer running SoundSwitch. Two DMX outputs give you control over two full DMX universes, while the DMX throughput ports make it possible to integrate a backup controller or connect to an installed venue lighting system for smooth changeovers. Save this for when you are setting up your lighting, and follow for Part 3. #SoundSwitch #ControlOne #DJLighting

If you are new to the Control One, this is where everything starts... Part 1 breaks down the top section of the Control One and shows how easy it is to get connected with Engine DJ powered hardware. The top controls give you fast access to the core lighting functions. You can switch USB inputs, hit play or shift, tap BPM, link your setup, or trigger Autoloop Override when you want to take control. The two central dials let you adjust speed, colour, and other effect attributes on the fly, and the screen shows you movement, strobe, hue and position settings so you always know what your lights are doing. The Control One works with SoundSwitch on desktop and also connects directly to Engine DJ compatible hardware, making it simple to run your lighting from your decks with no complicated setup. Save this video for when you start building your own show and follow for Part 2. #SoundSwitch #ControlOne #DJLighting

How quick can you set up your lights? This clip was definitely not sped up... Basic SoundSwitch setup is easy. - Add your fixtures on desktop - Export the venue file to your drive - Then plug it into your Engine DJ decks - Connect the DMX Micro Interface And then your lights will sync to the music right away! No complicated steps and no digging through menus, just a clean setup that gets you mixing fast with autonomous lights. Speed running your lighting might not be a real sport yet, but this feels close. #SoundSwitch #DenonDJ #DMX

Lighting has a huge impact on your event. Here is a couple of different lighting set ups @Tennyson.Events did last wedding season; one at White hill Estate in McLaren Vale & another at Quince Brook in Strathalbyn. Remember that festoon lighting looks great at Dinner as long as you can dim it down, BUT THEY ARE NOT dancefloor lighting. You need to think how you layer different levels of lighting together.
