Brady Tkachuk's return to Ottawa could not have gone much worse. After leaving the Senators for Florida, Brady came back to face his former team, and the Sens made sure he wasn't leaving with a win. One second he's flying through the neutral zone, the next he's splitting defenders, creating a scoring chance out of absolutely NOTHING, or feeding a teammate with a pass that shouldn't even be possible. Nobody can keep up that exact pace forever, but watching him start a season like this is a reminder of just how special this guy is. We're watching one of the greatest talents to ever play the sport, and sometimes I genuinely think people have gotten TOO USED TO HIS GREATNESS. 4 POINT NIGHT FOR PAPI BRO THIS GAME HAD EVERYTHING😭💀. The Leafs were down 3-0 and somehow turned the whole thing around to win 5-4 in overtime. At one point it looked like this was just going to be another frustrating Leafs game, and then suddenly the comeback was ON. Goal after goal, the building got louder, and Toronto kept finding ways to claw its way back into it. And then there was GAVIN MCKENNA. After all the people already questioning the kid after just a few NHL games, he finally got his FIRST NHL GOAL. You could feel how much that moment meant. The first overall pick finally broke through, and doing it in a game this insane makes it even better. The kid got his moment, the Leafs got the momentum, and suddenly this game went from “yeah, they’re probably cooked” to “WAIT A SECOND…” 😭🍁 But of course, who else was going to finish it? PAPI. After getting his first NHL point earlier, the kid follows it up with his first goal, and you already know every Leafs fan was going crazy when that puck hit the back of the net. It might only be one goal, but for an 18-year-old playing his first NHL games in one of the biggest hockey markets in the world, this is a massive moment. The pressure surrounding this kid has been insane from the second he became the first overall pick, and now he finally has that first goal that he can look back on forever. And honestly, what are the haters going to say now? 😭💀 People were already questioning him after a handful of games, acting like an 18-year-old was supposed to immediately dominate the NHL every single night.
