After 15 years of drawing like this I’m finally making the leap to canvas. Took me a while to figure out the technique. Come see “SMOKE” at SADE GALLERY in Los Angeles opening Nov 17th. 7-11pm #graphitememories #timbiskup #painting #sade

100 year old paper! So fragile. Like us! It ages so beautifully. “Life doesn’t last. Art doesn’t last” - Eve Hesse

Graphite. Not Charcoal. The music is “Book of Genius” by Big Butter

Graphite on Newsprint . An Artist is one who makes their living by playing. Whether dancing or painting or playing music. whatever it is… They must know how to play in public, at a given time, on an appointment and that's not an easy thing to learn, but when you catch the trick of it, you can do it. to play on demand… that’s the hardest thing in life. -Alan Watts

Formation - Graphite on Newsprint - the music is an unreleased track by Big Butter #timbiskup #faceguts #graphitedrawing #graphite #art

Drawing like this is a meditation on allowing forms to emerge without judgement. What is it? An Ankh? Ot? Maybe I’m a closet occupational therapist? I’ve learned a lot about myself from seeing what comes out of this graphite. #timbiskup #faceguts #graphitedrawing #graphite btw: this is actual speed

Real time. Not sped up like i usually do. Also unedited so you can see all of my tiny touch-ups. The music is by @socialcontainer played really loud as it should be. #cyclops #timbiskup #faceguts

I think that artists are inherently sensitive. The world tells us to become desensitized in order to fit in and to make sense out of the world in the same way that everybody else does. I think that for my experience as an artist to blossom I needed to be counter-intuitive and go towards my sensitivity to let it guide me. For me, that means that I cry a lot. I smile a lot. I have intense feelings all day long. I turn those feelings into art so that everyone can feel them. Thank you for watching!
